I'm guessing it's Walt's. It's from Blue Springs, MO and says the only bike to finish the Daytona 200. Anyone willing to finance me for $11,200?

I just talked to the guys at Blue Springs. The owner said he would entertain any offer north of $10k.

I don't know. I'm not affiliated with the bike or that dealership anymore. I just thought I would spread the word.

i would have to do a few mods, because it would be on the street...

i see it says fresh motor, what kind of shape do you think the rest of it is in?

i suppose this would be the next step since my 1125 is all but paid for

well i have a call in to blue springs. David is gone but they are going to see if they can get a hold of him or else i'll talk to him beginning of next week.

figured i might as well check into it a little more. a couple phone calls never hurt.

not buying it for sure but depending on how negotiable that price is i sure am having a hard time talking myself out of it...

by the way, i think buying an xbrr should automatically get me access to being able to buy race parts without the race license i dont have...

otherwise im gona be hosed if i get this worked out!

Look into registering it. I am not aware of ANY state that will allow registering a NON-VIN vehicle - even as a custom.

If you plan to own it without a race license, have your dealer contact Buell Racing about replacement parts. You CANNOT order parts through the normal supply chain. Sure you can get swingarm and slipper clutch parts but you'll eventually need engine internals.

I don't want to be discouraging but also don't want you to be surprised if you think you can put it on the street (legally) or need spare parts and hope to get them without a license.

You know that you cannot order directly from Buell Racing? - you have to order through your dealer... so give them a shout to see if they'd work with you on it. I just don't see Buell Racing as supporting a bike that is sold to a non-racer.

(but DO check out the DMV thing - that could bite even IF you can get spares)

Be a helluva streetbike - just get to know your dyno operator. The motor doesn't take kindly to changes in weather or elevation... and needs 114 octane LEADED fuel (also not legal for street use) ECM is operating OPEN LOOP - no oxygen sensor. IF you try dropping the compression to be able to run pump gas, you will be starting your dyno tuning from scratch.

Just go into it with your eyes open.

i am my local buell dealer! and i have talked to Henry plenty of times, i also have a really nice dyno and one hell of a tuner to run it!

as far as registering it. this is iowa. i can get anything registered here

so far i have throw 2 jet engine bikes on the street. one jfs 1000 and one 450 allison. both built from the ground up by me and some friends.

the vin problem is not all that hard to take care of. one ebay frame would be the easiest fix, or just a title, grinder and some stamps.

but... even though i think it would be feasably possiable i doubt im going to go ahead with it the more i debate on it. i debated on lowering the compression, but that would defeat some of the point of having the xbrr! its not like i'm going to go touring on the thing so it wouldnt be impossiable for me to just have a drum of fuel to top it off with.

as i said though, i think i will probably hold off. i have to much stuff to do to the 1125 at the moment anyway. then of course i still have a few things brewing for the 9

on top of the fact that i still havent gotten my phone call returned so they must not want to sell it to bad anyway.

(my bad - I coulda/shoulda looked at your profile and a lot of your other posts!!!)

I'd just be cautious, we've worked two of the RR's on 3 different dynos over the past year and a half to get a half dozen maps that work well for different tracks and a few global fuel commands that lean/enrich. If we weren't getting free dyno time, we'd probably have $5000 in dyno time on both motors.

It's a labor of love.

Not sure if Glendale's going to keep Dixon's RR going or if they're going to go to the 1125R and just try some LSR attempts with their RR.
