Although I'm sure I will regret this for years to come, I'm selling the S2. Buying a new bike for the 50 mile commute to work, and no room at the inn, so it's gotta go.
Here's the details:
Located in Philadelphia, PA. I have no way to ship it so ya gotta come get it.
I bought it in '02 with about 3K on the odo. Rode it a lot the first year, then the Blast became the daily commuter. Blast was replaced by a DRZ400S two years ago. New job and 50 mile commute means DRZ isn't cutting it, so it is being sold locally, as is the S2. I wanted to give Badweb folks first crack at it - it will go on Craigslist and/or Fleabay next week if it doesn't sell.
The Good:
12,300 miles approx. (not the daily driver)
Avon tires, good tread left on them.
full 10K service done by Liberty Buell last year, including rear shock mount recall/update and a late-style recall shock installed at that time. The shock was a take-off from someone else's upgrade to a Penske, but it seems to be fine right now.
S2T bars are installed.
PM wheels, see attached pic.
Axtell 1250 kit, XB heads, NRHS motor mount, and "E" cams. Heads have squish cut 15 degrees to match pistons. Dyna 2000 ignition.
Probably about 3000 miles on the new top end. Installation was done by local Harley/Buell dealer.
NRHS HurricaneFlow air cleaner backing plate with 2" K&N element installed last year.
Supertrapp muffler, stock header.
Front brake rotor upgraded to 2K rotor at 11K miles.
The Bad:
A couple of rock chips (very small, the usual stuff) on the front by the headlight and a nick in the paint on the tail section below the taillight from a "rolling it around the garage" incident. Very small, no fiberglass damage, but it bears mentioning. I'll try to get a better picture when the sun comes back out, or better yet stop by and see it yourself : )
No passenger pegs. I took them off when I kept snagging my pants leg on them, and the wife doesn't ride on the back so I didn't need them. I might have them in a box. If I find them I'll include them.
If not, well they're just the crappy stock sporty pegs.
Missing the retaining nut for the trip odo. reset knob. Part # is in the badweb archive somewhere. I will order it Monday, so it will be on the bike when the part gets here.
Trip odo. still works fine. Just the retaining nut came loose and fell off last week when I had it out for a ride.
Yellow Jacket Pearl has faded at a different rate on the front and the tail section. You can tell in the side view. To the best of my knowledge the bike has never been down, and I've seen a couple of other Yellow S2s exhibit this. Not sure why but they were hand built bikes, so . . .
The Best of the Rest:
I have all of the original parts for the bike except the brake rotor -
Stock cylinders, cams, pistons, heads, motor mount, and ignition.
Stock bars.
Owner's Manual
Service Manual
I will include all of the stock parts to the new owner if he/she wants them.

I have a Works shock for a 190 lb. rider new in the box, not installed. Will include that with the bike for a negotiable extra amount of $, it's 659.00 from American Sport Bike new.
Asking $4200 with all the stock parts included, will negotiate if you don't want the top end stuff, etc.
Have a bike to trade? Let me know I might be interested.

PM me I can send the hi-res photos of the bike. They lost a lot resizing to BadWeb standards.

Nice bike. I'd buy it if I had the extra dough. That's my favorite of the factory colors.

After much deliberation I have decided I can't sell the S2 at this time. Triumph will make a Tiger next year, too. Buell isn't making an S2 again anytime soon. Thanks to all who expressed interest.

Excellent decision. I just got the suspension re-dialed in and have fallen in love with mine all over again.
