no actual experience with the quiet core but having spent a month with a Jardine "muffless" I have to say get it...I got fed up today and started rebuilding my WB. I took it all apart with the aid of a bit of machine oil and a hammer I am very happy that the Jardine and the WB use the same header I should have the whole thing redone in time for monday's ride on Block Island. That said here are the things that I like about the Jardine. Great Flow...my wrist can feel the difference. Quicker Rev's, RPM's climb quite fast. The Low RPM sound is very nice posible one of the best sounding pipes for the 2-4K range. My issues are with the sound over 4K RPM's it's too loud for my taste and I have the WB can here...if I didn't I would definatly get the quiet core insert

Nytrashman: After installing the Jardine I went for a late night(LOUD)test ride. I installed the Quite Core the next morning. I drilled the hole before the installation of the muffler so all I had to do was pop it in. Maybe I was being paranoid, with all of the neighbors asleep, but I almost walked the bike back to the house instead of riding it because it was so loud. I figured I would need the Quiet Core so I ordered it before I installed the Jardine and I am glad I did. It is louder than stock, but very bearable. I may wear earplugs for long hauls. I have only ridden it two days since the install Monday night, but no one has said that it is very loud, but I did get looks from the barber shop.

Drill the required hole before installing the can. Be very precise. I thought I was, but almost drilled the hole too far from the exhaust tip and it required a little persuasion to get the holes lined up.

Xgecko: Is there a space between the exhaust port and the back of the circlip/bolt on flange of the header? If so, how much space?

Thanks

thanks Blasty2K, your real world experience with the quiet core is just what i was looking for. at this point i am still unsure if i should leave the stock exhaust or go with the Jaradine/quiet core. i wish someone with the jardine setup was within driving distance so i could check it out first hand. thanks again, i appreciate it.

George
