really up on yer intrawebz skills?

this off BARF:

".....I've a friend overseas who sometimes makes me copies of racing stuff - he came through and got me a copy of this!

Highly recomended.

Its not just WSBK either. There is coverage of MotoGP. Specifically the Chili 500cc win with lots of footage I've never seen before. Including a troll face Lawson with both arms raised mock cheering for the victory.

There is some TT stuff. I never knew the details of Mike Hailwood's wins there after his retirement from bike racing. Now I get it why he is so respected.

And lots of good stories. Foggy and Whitam kinda dominate, and for sure there is a pro England bias, but neither is annoying. A+ movie....."

If the last of your seven proxies is UK, you might be able to watch it here:

BMW have announced that they are pulling their factory team from WSB! They say they are putting all their resources into the BMW Motorrad Italia team, but I have it on very good authority that it will be absolutely nowhere near the factory effort and more like something a lot less than Ten Kate enjoy with Honda.

Melandri will probably stay with BMW and move across to partner Badovini in the 'new' team, which leaves Haslam to look elsewhere for next year (Honda or Kawasaki are my bet?).

Is this the beginning of BMW's move to MotoGP or the start of their exit from Motorcycle sport completely once again?

Either way, they have spent an awful lot of time and money getting theri WSB bike to the point of being competitive, and then dumping it. Anyone would think someone from from H-D was running the show in Bavaria : )

Just got back from a vacation in the Mediterrannean. Surprised one of my Spanish guides by correctly identifying Mark Marquez on a billboard in Barcelona.

Heard of Lorenzo's domination in Mugello, and Melandri's triumph in Brno. Good to know all is right in the world.

Oh, and Johnny Rea's reckless passing finally bit HIM in the ass, instead of someone else for a change.

Time for some heavy-duty fantasizing.

Ben Spies back in WSBK on an EBR 1190RX??

That would be great but..........
So, will it be WSB, AMA or perhaps on a MotoGP Suzuki?

None of the above. He will spend 2013 running his bicycle team and won't go near a motorcycle at all next year.

I suspect if that's true, Matt, he'd be a "Rider/Owner" and not just running it. He'd be competing too.

He needs to hire Bradley Wiggins : )

Funnily enough, road cycling seems to be the new trend for motorcycle racers. Leon Camier trains with Mark Cavendish and is also a very competent cyclist.

Silverstone up this weekend. You know the UK riders are going to be pulling out all the stops at this round. Should be interesting!

I missed the Brno races but the results suggest that Tom Sykes is beginning to get over his tyre longevity issues. I'd love to see him get a couple of wins at home and turn the championship into a three way fight.

I think Tom is probably the best hope for a Brit victory this weekend, and certainly an odds on favourite for pole position once again. If he can manage his tyres and stay out of trouble he could spring a surprise.

Laverty went well at Silverstone last year too, so could be up there if he qualifies well. Chaz Davies could surprise a few people too I think ; )

Haslam and Rea seem to be going through a sticky patch mid season and I can't see either of them threatening this weekend, but you never know......
However I think Melandri will take it though as he is on a roll right now.

Supersport looks a lot closer and you could pick any one of 6 riders to win this weekend I think.

The schedule right now claims they are broadcasting a NASCAR truck race at that time. I set the DVR anyway... let's see what we get.

I wonder what happened to the broadcast? They showed an old race but it must have been hours over in England by then? 3PM CDT is 8 pm in England. They couldn't have been racing that late?

Shame about the unpredictable weather. The races were entertaining but did little to move the championship on and the arbitrary way the way races were stopped (or not stopped) was odd when you consider what happened at Monza.
So; Spies/Melandri at BMW. Rea/Haslam(?) at Honda. Johnny Rea seemed rather put out by what he has to ride in WSB after getting his hands on a real factory bike for the Suzuka 8hr. I hope the Ten Kate team get some more support from Honda next year so that they can field a bike capable of winning without good fortune and/or extreme risk taking by the rider.
With Crescent Suzuki finding an extra 15hp from the Yoshi supplied engines it would be good to see Hopper and Camier challenging again. Let's hope that the hp gains don't always come at the cost of "electrical" failures that produce clouds of burning oil : )!
Although the races were pretty meaningless there are signs of an exciting end to the year and a pretty impressive line-up for 2013.

Does this signal a move for Johnny Rea to a Honda satellite bike in MotoGP?

Addendum to my post of August 5 (since the software won't let me edit it anymore): The DVR says it recorded the NASCAR Truck Race, but when I actually watched it, it is, in fact, Silverstone Race 2. Didn't have time to watch the whole thing, but at least I know I have it.

I saw a single seat car race televised from Moscow raceway a few weeks ago and it appears to be a very good facility, certainly a match for many of the established circuits on the calendar and better than many.

Rather than being on ice I woudl suspct teh temperatures to be soaring in Moscow at this time of year. It isn't unusual to see temperatures in the high 30's C + at this time of year.

Checa is back on form and takes the pole in Moscow followed by Sykes. Melandri qualified ahead of Biaggi. Hoping for some interesting racing on Sunday!

Checa was nowhere to be seen. Johnny Rea once again runs true to form and causes two riders to crash out... this time former World Champion Max Biaggi and Leon Haslam.

Marco takes over the lead thanks to ANOTHER bone-headed move from the Northern Irishman. At least THIS time it worked in Marco's favor.

Also, congratulations to Tom Sykes for taking his first DRY race win in Race #1.
