yup b50 and the 515 this winter NHRS heads and se550's next I have no clue if the pro series exhaust and 46/175 will mesh well with the b50/515 I know they wont for the se550+heads |

SE 550s bolt right in. Valve springs are needed at a minimum. The PS exhaust will work with the B50's, but will restrict the SE 550s. Jetting isnt a big deal. And NO it never stops! |

I like the look of the pro series, maybe I'll have my buddy make a new header that is wider than the pro series down to the y, I like the look of the pro series, but wouldnt mind more performance and volume |

so EZ I got my b50s(stirring the pot) I figured my plan of attack this winter is the full pro series setup with a 515cc kit right. well now I have no clue what to do next winter I thought just have the blast heads reworked and use a hotter cam (se550) and then se ign and fab a custom exhaust. then I got the "while I'm in there" bug and started thinking, how far can I REALLY go without splitting cases. while staying on (93) pump gas. dreams of xb heads and high compression are running through my head. my goal is a 0-60 under 4 seconds (dreaming I know) on pump gas, without a case split, oh ya it has to be street-able too I do mostly city driving, and I'm getting sick of having hondas and suvs out running me, I could just sell and buy something fast but thats too easy, I love my moped... er I mean bike (Message edited by styxnpicks on June 29, 2007) |

why stop at 580? if your gonna gow wild might as well throw in a rs643 with 1.75 rockers lol, Id be more woried about getting a valvetrain that could wind up past 8000 I've been playing with the numbers and I'm liking what i'm seeing, I just dunno how far i want to go yet 1.9/1.615 heads with a 44" kit and 643's would be nice if I could afford it. of course at that point I could just dump the moped and buy crotch rocket |

Anybody can plunk down the money and buy a crotch rocket! (While crotch rocket usually denotes 'rice' that could also mean an XB). It all depends on what your trying to accomplish. I like building stuff. Taking an XB (or any HD) and making it into a high horsepower monster is expensive and not real world practical (for me). You can build the snot out of a Blast and still have fun with it! Of course I'm deep in the depths of The Darkside. Do the insane know they're insane? Probably not! |

I'm kinda stuck with the moped lol, I'm only 5'6" and I can BARELY reach the ground sitting on my buddies R1, I have the chance to buy an 86 yamaha fazer fzx 700 but those things are rare and hard to find parts for |

the 580 has a different push rod length, however, otherwise it would be a bolt in for a XB head, though tuning would be necessary for timing and carb as well - your only 300th more on lift - its also the cams aggressive profile - that sets it and all all the cams after it even more so - that aggressiveness comes at a price that TOL parts will promotedly lengthen - the wear and tear on the rest of the engine - aka Ti- valves, stepped guides, heavy duty springs, great seals and rings, bearings, Iridium plug, and on - still because of the dramatic engine wear - life span does decrease - most optimistic of the twin owners with such a setup is around 35000 realistically with a stock hope of 50000 - people getting over 50000 miles to a stocker - trouble free are fortunate indeed - on any brand it seams - though there are certain models that achieve closer to 75000 in a good majority. Those 100000 mile bikes are rare indeed. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Revised - Most Bang for the Buck! Go the one to two sizes over stock boring - having the cyl - center honed by machine guide - get a hi-comp piston - 10.5 or 11.0 from any of the engine kit groups,Most of our sponsors, Nallin, NHRS, Millinium, Axtell, S&S, etc. - also order a stage 2 head with the extras put in the head listed below - as well as Total seal rings, or head work can be handled the other of two ways - if you know of a good shop that does head work -go with them, go with a lot bigger intake valve and a little bigger exhaust valve, 3to 5 angle port and polish for breathing, a little flow bench clean up and clearancing, Ti valves, SS seats, stepped guides, premium seals, heavy duty ti springs, enlarged oil passage hole, heavy duty rockers, Ti push rods in the proper size, Top & Bottom end rebuild gasket set, cam set, 580 cam - front set - heavy duty cam bearings, SE HD oil pump gear and gasket, SE programmable ignition or a Crane cams ignition with a modified timing cup - set to 5 curve and 7500 rpms - the SE will be set for 2 and the Crane has to have an extra hole cut about 180 degree away for the extra spark - lol - this does make tachs cheaper - you can program either though, but i'd only do so with a dyno on hand, with the Crane Cams programmable soft and hardware - my intake is a CV40 Torque-stack fitted with a stack filter, with carb spring supports, the carb has a Dial-A-Jet set at minimum, jetted at 45/155 and needle shimmed at 0.05 and the slide polished - response is nice - a poor mans Force exhaust - a Jardine Header - using the stock front lower header mounting hardware, attached - uncut - to a D&D Blast Exhaust can - still 200 bucks cheaper than a Force was when they where on the market and almost as powerful with a world more reliability - air-screw 3 1/4 turns out. Some good shopping could bring this in from 1000 to 2000 max - all this would turn your Blast into Mr. Toads wild ride and a great start into the dark side - add rear-sets, Works suspension and you are very deep indeed - lol GT - JBOTDS! Gasket was changed in 2002. Early 2002 had the old style, later 2002, the new style. |

Racing XB are 11 to 12.5 - per several of the performance kit folks and the RR - Axtell, S&S, Millinium, etc. GT-JBOTDS! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on July 01, 2007) |

Most popular seen available are the 10.5:1 and sometimes 12:1. Different ratios take some searching. I checked Axtell and they did show a bunch of different ratios (but you have to click on every single piston to get the ratio). I didnt doubt you'd seen 11:1, I just havent.
