How was the spline on the crank and hub? Check your compression and ignition timing. If there is signs of the cam cover being off maybe the cam timing is off? |

I put in a new plug and the blast was a blast . Running great I would like to get in to first a little smoother .And it takes a minute to idle down .So I think Ive got this blast going with the info from this site . |

The shafts and everything else seam fine a piece of one of the magnets was chipped but it is charging good now.And the bike is starting good and running real good .The plug looks like it is running rich .So the timing must be okay no popping etc.It is a little hard going into first and is a tad slow to idel down |

"Gearheaderiko, What a great looking dog! He did very well tonight, you must be proud. Now, how did a "gearhead" get into show dogs? "Thanks EZ and MaBueller. Its my wifes' (for 13 happy days now!) hobby. I dont say anything about her dog shows, she leaves me alone in the garage and we both take turns driving the cart into the poor house! I am proud and seeing her dreams come true makes me happy too. |

Allenbassin, We have alot of info in the Knowledge vault about hard shifting into first and how to correct it. Make sure you primary is adjusted properly(looser than instructed in the manual) then adjust your clutch. Pull in the clutch, count to five and put it into gear! LOL! |

Welcome to the board Yellowblastard! Allenbassin, Why did the retaining spring come out? Are you sure this wasn't a project bike someone lost interest in? Same goes when you put it back together, adjust the primary on the loose side, then adjust the clutch. If the primary is too tight it can c*ck the clutch drum on the clutch hub and cause the clutch to drag and cause the grinding when you put it into first. Ladybug are you out there tonight? |

Question- I saw the new Ghost Rider movie, and not being a Buell expert, it looks to me as though he is riding Buell's for his stunt bikes. I googled the question and got some guy in Sweden on a Hayabusa. Any thoughts? |

Allenbassin. Their loss, your gain! Did you have the clutch adjusted too tight then pull in the clutch? I saw a post on the XB board about the ramp for the clutch lever breaking, you might want to check that over also while you are putting the retaining clip back in. Welcome to the board Hootis29! I tried following the link but to no avail, can you post a picture of the Blast here? |

EZ, For you to start your Blast store, there are a bunch of 2002 Blasts for sale at American HD in Ann Arbor, MI. $1800 This is the store where I first saw Spiderman, before I knew who he was, It was December 23-24, 2002, I saw a foreboding, sinister looking character with his hulking mass leaned over the body of a beautiful black X1, as it snarled with such ferosity that it had everyone at the dealership looking to see what was making all the noise. The only thing I could think was OMG!(Thank goodness the dang thing stalled and he couldn't get it restarted!) |

Well just thought I would drop a quick line to say I have returned to the fold. Its been a few years since I have been here and at least 2 since I have been on a bike (a couple of knee injuries and a lot of work). However recently I have decided to get back on two wheels. I also decided that I will go back to a Blast (along with my Aermacchi that I have kept) and eventually add a old tuber to the stable as well. Anyway it is good to be back and good to see a few of the same faces around here. Hopefully I can catch back up to some of the things that have been going on with these bikes. |

As I make some progress on the Aermacchi I'll be sure to post some pics of it. This one that I have kept is still majorly in parts and still missing a few odds and ends. I sold the other one I had the 350h and I'll see if I can dig up some pics of it somewhere. I had thought of just selling off all these parts on ebay (the reason i had saved it) but since then have decided to bring the bike to life. I do have a lead on a supposedly low mile early Blast so I'll update on that after I go check it out this weekend. |

Your stock cyl is xb12 - lol - just less stroke aka the xb9 - you could do a 600 kit, if you split cases to bore out case or, as both Richard Nallin Motorsports or Revolution offer even bigger up to 4.19" - but you'd have to call for pricing. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Just picked up an '03 Red Blast from the Rider's Edge program in Santa Fe for the wifey. She has grown tired of riding behind me on the Uly. She wanted her own bike and really liked the Blast after taking the Rider's Edge Class. Needless to say, my friend at Santa Fe informed me that they were retiring a few so I had pick of the litter. Only had 646 miles on it. The dealership (actually my friend) put 250 on it in break in miles before putting it into the program. It seemed to be cleaner than most and still comes with a one year warranty because I'm theoretically the first owner. Time to start searching for goodies for it. |

I bought a 03 Blast from RE program with 800 miles on it and I LOVE IT. It replaces an 82 Gold Wing. I can't stop grinning to work and back. |

Welcome to thumpin, Joel (& your wife)! Great deal on getting a 1 year warranty on a 4 year old used bike. Sounds like HD is doing the right thing! Your "just added a Blast.." topic has been deleted. After searching through the XB forum, once, I'm trying my best not to let the thumper side get so diluted and confusing. Therefore, most general stuff gets deposited back here, which is usually the page everybody reads first (or should!). |

Hey all, how are your winters going? Mine could be better...sub zero temperatures and 6in of snow aren't exactly pristine riding conditions...hehe. I'm not exactly new to thumping - I've been riding my incredible little Blast since last spring and lurking around the boards here for just as long. Everybody and everything here has helped me so much and I would just like to thank all of you for everything I know and have learned because of you. I wanted to post because as all of us Blastards know, spring is right around the corner (THANK GOD) and I don't exactly have anyone to ride with. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm by no means crying about it and whining to you, I will gladly ride alone anywhere anytime but it wouldn't hurt to have someone else to roll with every now and then (it gets lonely on 300+ mile a day rides in the summer, lol ) I live in dreary Fargo, ND (it's really not bad at all and I love it here, but everyone always gives ND crap) Being as I'm only 16 I know I don't have nearly the experience or wisdom that most of you have, but I have been riding since I was 9 and would rather die than not be able to. I love to ride fast and long without time or destinations in mind and I was just curious as to if there any Thumper Enthusiasts within oh, IDK, 250-300 miles of me? If so I would greatly appreciate a post back because I would love to hook up to chat and ride this summer sometime. Thanks for reading my rant and Happy Blasting to all!! Yes it's fast, no you can't ride it. |

well i went and saw the bike this weekend and i have to say i could have sworn i was walking in on my old bike. its a 2001 in black. it looks like it had a very light drop on the left side (one scuff and a busted off toe peg)...oh it only has 36 miles on the clock. so yeah i grabbed it up...i'll be getting it here in a week or so. so yeah looks like i'm officially back on a blast. hmmm i think i still have my old cafe fairing and a few sets of bars in storage. |
