it handles very different, almost like a rolling pin changing direction, it took more effort to turn

Yeah...usually we DOWNSIZE tires to get quicker steering...you didn't get the memo? : D

The bigger tires were for mileage......

Jugallo94, thats the tire we changed to after the May ride. The Big Kid must have gotten some miles out of it as he swears he didn't do "Any" burnouts. I wish I had recorded the mileage.

Those chicken strips happen on the Big Kids Blast because he rides it back and forth to college.

I haven't had any problems with release agent "Yet" because I wash and scrubb the tire with lots of soap after I mount it. How do you think they do it at the track when they mount a new tire?

tech questions:
neutral light is out and the stand will cut the engine when i lower it. are these two issues related? also, is it technically challenging to install an aftermarket exhaust system? thanks!

aftermarket exhausts are pretty easy just pay real close attention to your exhaust header stud torque, get a new header gasket, keep the stock mounting hardware for the front of the exhaust and follow the directions closely for alignment.

If bike is not in neutral and kick stand is down - bike will cut off.

Well I have both the big Vyper Strykes on the Little Kids Blast. I have driven it a bit and like it. It handles well. The Big Kids Blast has a wheel bearing problem I am trying to reconcile. The Big Kids Blast has less clearance between the tire and swing arm and I did some modifying on it tonight, as I am waiting for the Loctite on the bearing to cure. I am going to get another wheel from Jugallo94 next week if this Loctite doesn't cure.

On the other hand the Vyper Strykes don't seem to be wearing as well as the Avon AM 51-52

Mine still look solid, however, they still have less than a thousand on the Black, lol - busy working on the red and maintenance on the Black - clutch adjustment, etc., still - the red bike with the Joto/Laverda bars now feels much more simular to my black bike - the bar heights almost the same, the Joto bars are longer by about 11/2" each side - still no biggie and at the angle I'm using them - very comfey though now they are at top of the light glass vs almost top of the fairing - bairly clearance to lock - will probably get a second oversized set in November for the red - I really like their handling as well!

I have the coolest doctor,

He has ridden a motorcycle since he was 16, not because he is cool but because of economic reasons and not wanting to waste resources. At age 46?, he still rides every day if there isn't ice and too much snow on the road. He rides a non descript old Suzuki or Yamaha. And today, in Michigans nasty weather, when I thought I was going to be the only person out on a motorcycle, his bike is already parked at the office. This is a guy that coaches his kids basketball team and holds a free clinic on Saturdays.

When I grow up, I want to be like him.

I Re-wrote the airbox mod for usage with a K&N, either this mod or the radical final airbox mod, that deletes conventional filters, going with a stack filter on the venturi and the outer filter wall area facing the carb cut out are the two I would recommend to anybody wanting to keep reliability as well. Except for folks looking for all out performance - then I would recommend my stack/filter/springs set up instead. Enjoy!

Sure is a lot more reliable - thats for sure - the Pro-series Intake and the stock Intake Manifold Coupler are definately not made for each other - lol - however, my stacks are doing real well, though, I may test out different hoses again, when I'm done with my suspension mods - lol - I just don't trust that lame rubber piece - though the coupler on my Black bike has over 6,000 miles on it so far. lol

EZ. my fuel filler neck mod has been a DREAM. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it in 300 miles now. Its almost rigid enough to go without the bracket and springs, but I'm not wanting to chance a good thing. SOMEDAY I'll get some free time and put up a pic of my setup now.

My next test item is going to be heavy duty clamps and re-enforced (with wire as well as fiber) racing fillerneck hose, and my springs - lol

LOL - got to see Terry's bike up close and personal last nite! Very nice - and he os running my intake with a 1/4" adapter for the Mikuni - lol - he figures if he'd just geared a tad lower he would have got around 140mphs, as it is he set two records in the 650cc singles classes, and he plans to do the 730cc Millinium kit to enter the 750cc catagory and go 150 plus mphs! - very nice indeed!

A note - any Blastards wanting to go to the American Sport Bike BBQ and live in Northern Cali area - join me at 43rd ave and Vicente in SF at 9am Fri - if you show early coffee and stuff will be served - I'll be taking the Coastal route via 1.

Can someone tell me where I can find the online service manual? I got my rocker box gaskets on order. When I put them in I hope to do the rest of the 1,000 mile service.
Thanks
