I believe I will, Mom said it would be ok. The Little Kid has to watch Grandpa Elvis sing at the Carson City Frontier Days Festival. The Big Kid has to work. |

Welcome and enjoy! I have finally made it back to the Badweb after a long year at school. My Blast is still around, but not my primary bike anymore. I have just about ridden it to death and she is getting ready for an engine rebuild. |

The funniest thing just happened. I was sitting at my desk in my office when I heard that wonderful sound outside my window. There aren't many blasts around my area, so I was excited to see who was riding by! I leapt up, pulled the blinds back and strained to see down the street. The unmistakable exhaust note got closer and closer and I was sure the bike had an aftermarket pipe because it was a nice mellow, but loud thump... Then, I saw it. A restored 1950's era John Deere Tractor.

I was in my truck yesterday, saw a guy on a Blast at an intersection. I gave him a thumbs up as he took off, and he nodded, but I'm sure he was wondering why I had so much enthusiasm for him. Hope he didn't get the wrong idea...... |

I found this over on the Uly Forum: Harley Tech services called again today to let me know what they instructed my local dealer to try. They told the dealership to ride the bike at least 70 miles to see if the problem occured-it didn't. They replaced the cam position sensor and just to be safe they are overnighting a bank angle sensor to be installed tomorrow. I know this could be a real PITA if this does'nt work, but I am truely impressed by the lengths Buell/H-D and my local dealership are going through to try to fix my problem. My wife was nice enough to let me ride her new Blast to work today (only had 75 miles on it when I left this morning). Eric Buell really named this one correctly. I'm still smiling from my ride. I'll keep you all updated. Tim} The rest of the world is learning our secret! |

Well, since I can't get an answer in the knowledge vault I'll ask here. Does anyone know the physical dimension of a stock blast battery. I need a smaller battery for a special project and I seem to recall that there was a kit to install a Blast battery in an S1 so it should crank it no problem. Please PM me because I don't hit this forum often enough. Thanks |

Broken Speedo on 2002 Blast Hi. My speedo has stopped working. Any thoughts on how to fix it, without taking it to a dealer? Thanks |

I just replaced the speed sensor today to correct a no speedo problem. Not a big deal to replace. Trust me if you just get the right tools it is a no-brainer to install. Also, I put on the JC Whitney "big" fairing today. It needs some reshaping to fit with standard bars and I used the windscreen braces Vs the supplied install pieces/equipment. Looks the way the bike should have come, IMO. |

I just changed the rear tire on my daughter's Blast. Boy, is it ever easy to work on!. From start to finish, it took 45 minutes; and that includes digging out the necessary tools, pulling off the old tire, mounting the new tire, taking the wheel up to the gas station to put air in the tire and seat the bead, installing the wheel and cleaning the tools and putting them away. I saved over $100.00 by doing it myself and buying the tire online, as opposed to having a dealer do it, and it was done in less than an hour, instead of waiting for days. |

Testify brother!! After doing it once, its hard to imagine anyone paying to have it done (except the actual tire on rim mount & balance-sometimes more trouble than its worth $0-$17)! |

Speedo- I haven't got a manual - I don't know where to start! I'm in the UK and most 'service engineers' don't want to even look at it... It's not clocking speed or miles. Any ideas? New sensor required or just a clean? |

Are the Nuetral light and other dash lights working? - if yes - then just try cleaning with contact cleaner the sensor, and if that doesn't work then replace. If nothing is working - the safe bet would be to replace both - you could contact Dave at Appleton - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/17143/67339.html?1150401564 Or if you have the part numbers - you could try Chicago HD as well, however, Dave does give a BADWEB discount of 10%. Hope that helps - and its about 20 minutes work to replace both - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Teeny: If you need part numbers let me know. There is a repair manual download somewhere-EZ knows, I forget. Repair manuals (& parts manuals) go on ebay all the time, I'd really recommend getting one. At least you'll know what you're talking about when you see the Buell dealer and have the info to provide to them. |

Hi Here are some pictures of the fairing install I did using only the existing windscreen brackets re-shaped to fit. I used a drum sander attachment on my little Sears drill press to shape the cutouts for the turn signals and to make a cutout around the brake box on the handlebar. I also superglue'd a piece of black tubing from my garden irrigation kit, split in half, to the inside ridge of the fairing where it is against the headlamp so there wouldn't be any rattle of plastic on glass. The hard part was drilling the screw holes so the unit fit. I also added 1/2" spacers (furniture leg spacers) along with a felt pad between the bracket and the fairing plus longer bolts with locking nuts so it doesn't vibrate off. It definitely blocks more wind and helps confuse all who see it as they don't know WHAT brand of bike it is. The Blast is uncommon around here anyway as the HD dealers in MA don't support the bike and don't even carry parts, hats etc... in their stores. Some won't even order them for you! The whole process of adding the fairing was about 4 hours and 4 beers. I knew I didn't like the brackets that came with the fairing so I had to trial and error the final mounting and shaping to come up with what worked. Changing out the handlebars may have made it easier but I like the higher bars for commuting and have never sat on a bike with different ones so I worked around them. I find it makes for a more pleasant ride with less wind buffeting. I recommend the install to anyone. <Jim
