Jimmy, I've stayed out of this, just reading posts. I went back and read yours again and it sounds like you signed up here on BWB, maybe did a little reading, found out about Court and then went straight to him. I could look at this several ways; (1) You realized Court has a long history with Buell and extensive knowledge about the company, BRAG, and anything to do with Buell, and you want an honest opinion. Or; (2) You dislike Court for some reason and came on BWB to start attacking him. (That would be a seriously bad move) Now, as for the assumption that we here on BWB want to hide, someone needs to pay more attention to the profiles. Because you're just making yourself look like a complete Curtd, Why the hell do you want to pick an argument with Dyna. That's a stupid move. I've been a member here for over a year and in that time I've learned that when you argue with Dyna you just make yourself look like a complete moron, whether you are in the right or wrong. Let's see if I can bring this back and make my amends to Dyna, et al, here on this BBS. I came to try this site at the recommendation of a local HD/Buell guy. I was pretty sick of the crap dished out to a Buell rider at other unnamed sites where they think peak HP at 14K rpm is relevant to street riding. Ever seen their torque #'s, they're about the same as our Buells! I came upon Dyna earlier and read his profile and asked why is a HD rider coming here to bash Buells, when he came back with name-calling and attitude, heck, now it's off to the races. I know these types, they're the same flamers as on the other sites. All these BBS's seem to get a little clique going who seem to control the conversation, it's one reason so many BBS die out after awhile. The same people are saying the same things and it just gets boring if they dominate the BBS. This could happen here as well. Now Dyna is like he is, foul-mouthed and aggressive but probably a good enough guy in the right environment. I really wish he would either win his lemon suit or rebuild his bike. I think too much time on a 700lb machine after getting off a 450lb machine would make any of us pretty hostile after a bit. I think he did LOVE his X1 and then it puked all over his boots. Sorry for him, I have had pretty good luck with 2 Buells. It just isn't my experience. That's the closest I'll get right now to an apology, so take it if you want to. I can't help but cross swords if someone wants to throw it down, it's just part of the FUN. |

>>>fail to post my phone number and address so that internet wierdos can come and visit my home or make crank calls. Part of my concern, perhaps, after the initial statement here, oddly worded....to wit: "are you now or have you ever been". (sound like a deposition or is it just me?) Pardon me for being a bit sensitive. The last time that happened I ended up having a case number assigned by the NY AG's office when I got e-mailed a threat. Pardon me, with 2 legs and a kidney full of shotgun pellets, for being edgy about perceived threats. R: That letter was, working from memory, announcing the plans for Road America. I have 37 cases of crud. I'd guess the original reasons were in the articles of incorporation and by-laws we'd filed. Just a wild guess... Those were fun times. Phil and Erik came along a couple years after Erik and I met. Court |

Jimmy: Check out the benefits of B.R.A.G.. Tell ya what, beyond opinion and personal predisposition, I've added up the benefits and earnestly recommend you join. As a Lifetime H.O.G. member I find the annual travel atlas is the benefit that gets used most. Now that the fritters have spent themselves and cooled their jets, I'd suggest you join. Court |

Jimmy- I bought my '99 S3 several months after visiting this site regularly. I knew going into Buell ownership that there was a possibility that I may have 'issues' with my Buell. Instead I have had almost 5 years of pure joy of motorcycling. Not only do I have 39,000mi. on my S3 but everywhere I stop people ask me about it. That never happened much on my Hondas or Sportster. Due to the couple of official and many non-official Buell activities that I have been to I have met the greatest people. I can't think of one that was a jerk. Even the day that I met Dyna when the first thing he did after getting off his HD he was cussing his Buell, I still like the guy. I razz him once in a while because I get tired of him turning too many comments into an argument. But like an earlier post said "he'd give you the shirt off his back". That is the true testament to the quality of a person. I still belong to both the Nat'l and local Buell clubs. Just the magazines and and tow insurance make it worthhile to me. Why don't you try it for awhile and if you don't like it, don't renew. P.S. If you want to ride instead of listen to stories stay clear of Court. Once he gets going there's no stopping him. I want to meet Blake someday so that I can thank him for this site. Doing it electronically just isn't justice. I also liked the comment about the profiles. But my gripe is why don't people have their mug in the shot instead of just their bike? |

I knew I overheard you 2 bastards laughing about something I dont belong to Brag anymore for 1 other reason as well...I belong to HOG & it would simply be a duplication of services by belonging to both. The only item I dont get is Fuell & that can be picked up for free at the dealers. Course I havent attended any HOG functions in 3 years & dont buy parts at dealers anymore either. Hmm just why the hell do I still belong? |

why the hell do I still belong (to HOG)? For the same reason I do...Roadside assistance on both my Harley and my Buell, the discounts on parts, accessories and clothing that varies by dealer without having to join their chapters, the reciprocity that allows us to participate in an event (HOG or BRAG) if we feel like it, no colors allowed except at official events and even then they are optional and some semi-interesting propaganda mailed on a semi-regular basis. What did I miss? |

I do think I have found a very common thread or opinion I share 100 percent with DYNA. The comment above about "no colors" allowed. I have always had a BIG problem with certain criminal elements and their territorial definitions. I had some spiritual based group of guys I ran with for awhile, I was deeply disturbed when they felt they had to remover or cover their jackets, when riding thru certain territories, I have no interest in supporting those perceptions of this motorcycle world, BELIEVE ME, and that is from a defense atty, even. |

Curtyd...I believe I mislead you when I said no colors allowed. The colors I was referring to are the HOG Local Chapter (and perhaps National) patches, not gang or other special interest motorcycle clubs. I just recently learned of this and was quite surprised at the limitations imposed on HOG members, but it appears to be in the interest of maintaining a positive group image. National HOG is very specific as to when and where their patches (colors) can and cannot be worn. In essence, at HOG functions only and not when you are just out on the town or out for a ride. Ergo, most just put them on a vest that they wear over their riding jackets so they can readily and affordably (read: no need for multiple jackets) sport their colors when deemed appropriate. Incidentally, I do not know if this applies to BRAG or the Local BRAG Clubs. Perhaps one of their officers could advise what the manual says about this. I first learned of this on a Maryland HOG website and later had it confirmed by folks here in Milwaukee. It made sense and after a few tips to various festivals and other biker hangouts, it was quite obvious that there wasn't a HOG patch to be found yet almost all were at least National Members and about half were local chapter members. Personally, I don't wear any patches or pins and whine about having to buy clothing with advertising on it. Don't care if it is "Polo" or "Harley Davidson," I feel they should either compensate me or at least discount the clothing for the advertising space. LOL |
