I have read about this on a few sites and have a service manual but still have a question - oil leaking out the top of the rocker box - do I need to remove cylinder head to change gasket? I don't think it is coming from the pcv it doesn't start that far up. Its an 03 with 3500 miles - was a school bike we are fixing up. Thanks guys - I am sure I will need more help before we get done. My son wants to strip it down to frame for a custom paint job but I want to get it running right first. |

Good idea on getting it running right first!! Head removal not necessary, but do check that grommet! |

is the rocker gasket same as camshaft cover gasket? our Harley dealer is clueless so have to buy on line. im trying to find the post on here with all the parts and # on it. we broke the bike in half yesterday figured it would be easier to change gaskets with it apart after reading some of post on here. |

Not even close Bill. The rocker box gasket goes between the rocker boxes and the valve covers on each head. The cam cover gasket goes between the cam cover and the engine on the right side (as you sit on the bike) of the motor. The Cometic gasket kits are quite nice. You can order them direct from Cometic. |

Pammy at Cycle Rama sourced my Cometic kit for me. That top end gasket kit would probably be what you need, but may also include a head gasket, which you don't need if you are just fixing a rocker box leak. Though no harm in getting the whole kit and having a few spare gaskets on the shelf. |

Oh, I'm very sad. Splitting the Blast in half to do any top end end work is very very unnecessary. Sorry you had to do that. Rocker gaskets is a 2 hour job start to finish, much less if it's just the top rocker gasket ![: (](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/sad.gif) |
