Hey everyone, I have a model year 2010 (manufactured Sept. 09) blast that I bought from a Harley dealership. It is a former Riders Edge bike and has only 1400 miles on it. Recently the fuel tank vent line popped off, I cut it a little shorter and put it back on, securing it with a hose clamp. Shortly afterwards the bike started acting funny, it idles high to warm up then after cool down it "chugs" and backfires through the carb, and finally dies. It stalled on me one night while riding home and I switched the petcock to reserve and it got me home. After reading somewhere to try running with the fuel vent line completely off, I took it off. The bike is still having issues. I ordered a new boot and installed it today, but to no avail. Spark plug has been changed, as well as oil... I'm at a loss, any help you could offer would be great. Thanks, Chris |

Your vent line may be partially blocked - check path. EZ |

PS if your bike has such low mileage and it is practically new STOP CHANGING PARTS! Find the problem and fix it. Changing parts on what is essentially a new bike will waste money and very likely cause more problems, making the original problem even harder to find. It's not a California bike is it? |
