To all, we dropped off Webe at his house and now are settling in at home. Thanks to all for a great weekend.
Unfortunately I did not take a single picture this weekend. I need to tighten up. With all the adventures I had this weekend, I'm impressed I rode two tanks of gas out on the Uly. Like I told FB & JimDuncan69, I out of gas and tires, it's time to go home. Webe beat me though, the rubber on the right side of the front tire was thin enough you can see shape of the cords! I believe that would meet 1313's measure of a well used tire.
A smooth return home for me. Many thanks to everyone who helped organize the weekend. I had a blast! Great roads and great company. And although I was severely humbled in my riding skills by some of you, every corner was a learning experience. Looking forward to next time!
Just wanted to say, you all are one of the best group of people I have ever meet. Everyone made me feel welcome and part of the group. Can't wait for another.
Thrux - it was nice meeting you in Suches! Be sure to stop over to Carolina Corner Carvers. We are a wide-spread bunch, you might find other Buellers in or around your area.
Man... I sure wish I could have ridden with you C3'er.. looks like it was fun. We ended up with a local guy who took us under his wing and showed us the roads and taught us some useful techniques!
Overall it was a GREAT time.... now I just need to find a Blood Mountain somewhere closer to home!
Oh... and if anyone knows some County Officials from Union County... Pls tell them I said "Thank You for your hospitality!" Cause that part of GA ROCKS!!!!
I honestly can't believe the tire made it. I spent all day yesterday convincing myself that it would get me home... then about exactly halfway home I started having a mini panic attack thinking the thing probably wouldn't make it. Well, to my absolute surprise, every gas stop the thing STILL had rubber around the center!
Now in my driveway is the first time it's beginning to show cords, there's still rubber, but you can see the pattern. That's well over 1000 miles AFTER it past the wear bars!
Pictures later.
(Oh, and I realized why I wasn't really 'feelin' the bike in the twisties... Not only was it a brand new bike to me... but it's got a terrible Dunflop D208 on the front that squared off and dryrotted... and the EXTREMELY squared off 190 wide michalin on the rear)
Mike, good to see everything worked out for you. Enjoy your new XB. Back to the hellhole for me today. Not very thrilled about it after one very enjoyable week off.
I feel you Twig, I just can't get focused back on work today.
I'd just like to say thanks to everyone that tried to help me out with my cable issue. And also a big "Hell Yea!" to Slow and Froggy for showing me one awesome time on hwy 60. Hopefully come March I'll be able to keep up a little better.
Thanks for all the props, I look forward to riding with you guys many, many more times.
I am still on the road and leaving Beaufort, SC for Norfolk in the morning via the Outer Banks. Sunday night after everyone left, I and Echo15 bumped into a BMW rider that gave me the skinny on how to ride the "Outer Banks" the right way. He even helped me map it out on the laptop.
I will post up my pictures and video when I get back to my house. I shot everything in RAW, so my work laptop can't handle the conversion.
Based on Sanchez's pictures and seeing mine through the viewfinder, I am looking forward to posting them here.
Thanks again for allowing me to ride or lead rides with each of you. A special thanks goes out to Squids86129 for the new potato jar that helped me out not only on the inside, but when poured into the bike, really helped out with the pinging from running 87 gas.
I had a great time at Buelltoberfest II. Thanks to whoever had the idea to begin this. It was a pleasure to meet the few BadWebbers that I talked to and rode with. Hope to meet more of you soon.
Thanks to whoever had the idea to begin this. While I had a lot to do with it, credit goes to all that came out and made it a success. BIG thanks to Kristi! She's an inspiration, a real go do-er!
As for the thanks...I say it goes out to everyone who overcame the hurdles we faced this year to get to Suches! It's always fun to hang out with fellow Buellers at TWO. Can't wait until March!
is there any way we can get our badwed names on them? Sure there is, ya got a Sharpie? I'm to late this time out, but next time I'll figure a way. I'll also have the t-shirts available long before my next event to be able to take care of that for ya.
