The designer of the B-King should be fed slowly into a chipper shredder. What the hell is up with that brake reservoir? The pipes are pfugly. How can you take a great opportunity and this is what you deliver? |

Jaimec, I'd never even looked at a BMW until a bike show last year. Even then, I didn't notice that kind of setup, but with soooo many bikes around, there was too much sensory overload to take in any details. ~SM |

See, I guess that's the thing about opinions. I can't find anything unattractive about the R1200C (other than the telelever... thanks Jaimec!). Not really my style, but I like it better than a Sportster. ~SM |

SM - have you ever seen a guy riding a R1200C? It is about as dorky as the Wicked Witch of the West riding her pedal bike. It really looks silly. My neighbor has one. I thought I liked it when I first saw it in the showroom, but that neighbor ruined it for me. Maybe he is just the most dorky looking guy in the world, I'm not sure, but I would be afraid to be seen riding it if I knew someone was going to see me. Oh,keep any large woman analogies to yourself boys. |

As most of you know, I am (or at least WAS) a BMW fan. However, the R1200C will always be known to me as BMW's "April Fool's Joke" to the industry (for those who aren't aware, it was actually announced on April 1st, so not many people at first believed it was a real model). It was (at the time) the largest oil-head engine they'd built, yet it only made 1 bhp more than my R100RT which was 200cc smaller with 50% less valves and an entire generation behind in technology. It was also the first time I heard the old "but it has LOTS of torque" crap. Yeah, it got off the line okay, but then ran out of steam before you knew it. It was also the first BMW I'd ridden that did not have neutral steering... it wanted to fall into turns (like most bikes with those ridiculously raked front ends). It was the first bike BMW built with function following form. The next big insult to our intelligence was the R1200CL (someone posted a photo of that earlier). Take the same underpowered engine, add 200 pounds of fibreglass and plastic, and then wonder why no one bought the damned thing. Oh, in order to make up for the lack of horsepower, they gave it a sixth gear. WTF?? Thankfully SOMEONE at BMW came to their senses and pulled that abomination from their line. That's okay, they more than made up for it with the F650CS "Scarver" anyway. They didn't just beat that bike with an ugly stick, they just stuck two wheels ON the ugly stick!! |

Jaime, do you have a picture of you riding that R1200C. I could use a laugh right about now. Or did you burn the picture, or the dealership that tricked you into riding it? |

>>>How can you take a great opportunity and this is what you deliver?<<< We had one - Burger King - for testing. It's one of those opinion dividers. Look how many folks get off on a V-max. I didn't get a ride on it because I have the BMW Megamoto and also because according to my 6' tall editor 'You just won't fit on it'. 'A bike that big - c'moss boss' 'Your legs won't fit in the bodywork recesses.' 'Bugger - I'm always up for a big man's bike.' Fortunately The BMW Megamotard is now my second favourite motorcycle - ever. (Message edited by danger_dave on December 12, 2007) |

Anyone Remember the Suzuki RE5? The only Wankel rotary to come the Japan? Was the strangest thing in many ways I saw back then. The gages were in this housing that looked like a coffee can on its side that motored open when you started the bike up! It was also the very first water cooled bike I ever saw and that was strange looking back then...now air coolers look "Off"!

Your bike is ugly in all the right ways. It is "form follows function" personified. That kind of ugly never goes out of style. It's a classic and I want one. Bill |

Weird, I think the Suzuki Stratosphere is almost good looking. To me it looks like they have to finish the front of the fairing, otherwise, nice ujm. Most of the origami, incectoid stuff does nothing for me. It offends my wind tunnel sense. More for me is the Ducati sport classic stuff, Triumph Tigers are kind of cute, but most important in my mind is the form follows function attitude. Taste is taste. |

That bullet trike is what we down here in North Carolina call a Donk. I know, I can hear you laffin, but there's some rightious Donk cars down here, yea and I'm originally from So. Cal. And having seen it, well I'll admit it's hapening, though strange. And as for the Lady, you guys give her some credit, I'm sure she'd like to look like Jesica Simpson. |
