With a tiny bike like the BLAST! is there a possibility of carefully going around the speed bumps ??? You mention that you are walking the bike ... guess it would be a bit heavy to carry across ... LOL |

You could run a custom exhaust, but that might be more trouble and cost than the aforementioned riding around the speed bump. |

Yeah.. That's one of the things I'm considering. I have a guy welding and repairing my exhaust right now because it rusted out...so its on a timer anyways. Some of the speed bumps have curbs around them in my neighbourhood so there's no going around them and I scrape no matter what. I'm considering the Vance and Hines at this point since its the most economical and I'll have to pay Harley $200 to reject the carb because I have 0 mechanical ability, lol. |

Okay.....we'll tell you what jets to buy and it should take a competent mechanic 45 minutes to change the jets. Most of that time will be removing the stock air box. Anybody who is comfortable with the CV carb won't have any trouble changing jets. It's a comfortable 10 minute job without the stock air box on. |

yeah it takes longer to get that pesky airbox out of the way then it does to actually open up the carb and replace the jets. |

45 pilot/slow jet (stock on many Harley Davidsons). 175 main jet. 2 'shims' (#4 washers) on the needle. 2 1/2 turns on the idle mixture screw (aluminum screw plug will have to be removed, if its not already-very, very common alteration on CV carbs). It's all posted here on Badweb! Slow jet is a must. You could run either the 2 needle shims or the 175 main jet to save a little on MPG. But running both is best! *This will get you close or close enough in the carb tuning department and is a very common recommendation. |
