I wish you luck, I really do, but I wouldn't place a money bet in your favor.

Lesson to Fst_tyms and all reading, just tell us that yer upside down on a bike and you need to sell it quick and leave it at that. Keep the personal details out of the picture...

If you absolutely need to dump it then put it up on e-bay with a reserve price, state in the auction what the reserve price is and that it is set at the loan balance minus what you're willing to kick in to dump the bike. If it doesn't sell just take it back to the dealership and call up the loan company and tell them where to find it. Sell your other gear in separate auctions at the same time, and state in those ad's that the money collected will be put towards the lein on the bike in the other auction.

This is August, you're in Saugus, if you can't sell a bike in August in Saugus then you're probably better off with a voluntary repo.

Have a nice life.
Bye.

You sure you arent related to 420?
Like I said before, everyone on the net is a bad@ss. Whatever, get over it already.

LOL : ).

Sorry, but that WAS funny...

Howabout this...

Take the extra money you would have to kick into paying off the upside down loan and get a beater car for the commute. Then you could be "safe" AND have the best corner carving bake made for rippin up the turns.

Fst_tyms, if you're "a ball of stress", after riding your bike (no matter what kind of traffic), you're not much of a biker and we'd all be better off if you got rid of your bike.

By the way, riding in traffic on the 405, the 5, Irvine to L.A. is where I learned to ride a motorcycle, and the only time I was stressed is when I was in my car on the roads out there.

As for someone being an idiot, you're the only one here that looks and sounds like one.

Voluntary repo? No such animal, it is still defaulting on a contract(loan). For them to stop laughing there would need to be some serious extenuating circumstances. The "my (future)wife has dictated that I must get rid of this item." just does not float.

Destroy his credit. Lose face with his CU and still have them come after him for the difference between what they get for it and the loan amount.

I agree with Marine...riding's always relaxed me. Even when I've had a close call or some cage does something stupid to me off by the time I get where I'm going all is right in the world again. Riding's one of the best stress relievers I've got.

Absolutely.
I can have the worst day in the world at work and the drive home always does me good, and I have to drive through Atlanta, known for the worst drivers in the South East.
Too bad your new wife doesn't understand.
My wife doesn't understand either. I don't think she tries either. She just knows that it's part of what I do, and I wouldn't be me exactly if she tried to take it away. She's happy with the way I am and won't try to change me into something I'm not to make me fit into something I'm not.
I hate it when this sort of thing happens. Getting married changes things yes, but the change should be an evolution not a revolution.
Best of luck selling your motorcycle, and with your new life with the bride to be.
Here's to a long and happy life together

hey dyna ain't a hick, I am a hick, and I take offense to you , in a round about fasion comparing us like that. He is a god dawg city slicker.

I will say this , if it really is your wife telling you to sell it. that is just plain wrong because it was ok when you were dating and and she was using your body for sexual favors, but now she thinks she owns the cow.

turn the tables on her brother, this will be just the first step in you losing your personality in the game of love

Looks like its about 37-1 that you should sell the bike.

Maybe use the money to buy a Croquet set? Hopefully the wife will actually let you have something that comes with balls.

Y'all are like a bunch of starved piranhas. Once you smell blood you leave nothing but bones.

Fst,
It's just humor dude. You made it into a fight. That is in direct violation of board policy. This is a bikers board you know. Any mention of "my wife says..." or "cause my GF said so" will result in ridicule, but it is ridicule in a good way. After all, those of us who are still married know all too well who the real boss is.

Thanks Blake...Does that mean I got fired twice for not selling my bikes and other toys??? LOL

Hey, we all know a few "Usta's." You know, I usta do this, I usta do that. Well, don't sweat the small stuff cause is is the Usta's that are coming back to motorcycling in their 40's and putting money in both Buell's and Harley's coffers.

Of interest, I have the feeling my Ex's let me keep the bikes and other toys so they knew I wouldn't have time for a real mistress. Worked for me.

Loki,
There's ways and there's ways, sometimes it's all about how you go about it that makes some difference. And how the loan contract was written up. But life goes on, hopefully. ; )

He's going to take a bath on the deal regardless of what path he follows.

Is it better to park the bike under a tarp in the corner of the garage and reduce the insurance costs to storage only and non-op the registration while continuing to make payments and listing the bike for sale on sites such as this one on a monthly basis, or is it better to turn the bike back to the lienholder and negotiate a settlement balance to clear the lien and get a hopefully neutral credit report uploaded, or surreptiously (sp?) trade the bike straight across for a buddy's hot rod that the buddy's wife said he had to get rid of for too many display of speed tickets and then discuss the relative merits of two-wheels vs four in a land of boys will be boys and would she rather have him playing golf for four hours every Saturday afternoon or going for an early Saturday morning ride for an hour or two to de-stress and discharge the work week frustrations. These questions and more may be revealed in this weeks installment of "As the Buell Wheel Turns".

I hate to hear the 'someone says I gotta sell it'. Life is so short and uncertain. Most of us work very hard, almost from the cradle to the grave and then someone comes along and says, 'you gotta sell that or else', or else I won't have sex with you or I won't be your friend, or I won't pay your tuition. All of that is a form of extortion, manipulation, or blackmail, which I don't tolerate that well. Bummms me out I say. Well, it is your life. At some point in time you may look back and say 'I regreat having done that'. But none of us have a crystal ball. So, go to your lein holder and try to work something out. You might have to pay the difference, get a personal loan if you don't have the cash. I would post it at a very low price just to get it to a fellow Bueller and pay the difference myself. I feel for you dude. I have been married for over 20years, I am almost 50years old. Not that I am that wise or that experienced, but looking back, there a alot of things I would have dome differently. Women I treated casually that I should not have. Friendships that I took for granted that I should not have, and anybody that told me I have to sell that or stop doing that because they don't approve, well f$$k off!

Are you going to at least let us know the final resolution to the story? Please? Pretty please?

Just curious actually, good data point to know what people have had to go through to sell or unload a bike in some regions, especially when trying to help others do likewise.

Have a nice life regardless. Hope the future bodes well for you and your wife - honestly I do.

Take care.
