That is a hand custom job. Take your bike to a good reputable body shop, tell them you want to have your bike look like that, and let us know what they charge you.

That bike was always terrific for all the cool details it had.

Numb right hand (on a newbie Blast owner)
I've got one. I didn't used to w/ my old Savage 650 or Virago 535. I've been lurking here trying to find info to help. Ok, I can buy better gloves & grips and get a throttle control paddle/ lock. I've adjusted my bars, which definitely helped. My old bikes had bar ends which my Blast doesn't - so I think I oughtta try that. Bar length, and vibration frequency play in to what bar ends work best (or a Bar Snake - reg. or liquid)). Advice on what specific ones would work best on my Blast would be appreciated.
I'm loving my new ride, just needs a few, uh, tweaks...

: ) I was looking for a place to post the same thing. Rode 40 miles or so in a mix of stop & go and freeway traffic and by the end my right hand was numb. I don't wear gloves coz it takes away the sensitivity to the throttle modulation and I have stock bars (I like the posture) Any suggestions?

Read Roblasts' post. You can try all that stuff listed.(PS, Welcome Roblast!). Unfortunately, gloves and grips that help also take away the sensitivity (you speak of). Would fingerless gloves help? You can cut the fingers off many gloves or buy them that way. I have a set of "shooting" gloves (check police supply places) that I wear both ways (w & w/o fingers). They are heavier than you'd think.
Make sure your hand position isnt contributing. This often happens on bikes with low bars. All the riders weight on the hands coupled with wrists bent at an angle. There should be as little bend in your wrists as possible.

I've ridden bikes with much, much, (much!) worse vibration than the Blast and I've rarely had a problem with numbness. Its usually after a very long day (or days) or I've been lax and been in a bad riding position.
So I dont really have much experience with numbness (but I do know some of its causes).

I wound up putting on new gel grips and anti-vibration bar ends. It helped some. The big thing is the weight on my hands. I need to pay attention that I'm not leaning too heavily on my hands. That seems to be the biggest thing. I've adjusted my bars & it didn't make a difference for me. Because my arms are really short it's hard for me not to put weight on my hands. About all else I can do (which you don't want to do Leonard, and I get that) is get better padded gloves, or find bars that have more pullback - but I'm concerned about locking the steering.

PS Also beware of watches, rings or other tight fitting 'accessories'. They can add to or even cause the problem.

There are bars with more pullback that will fit. You can also buy pullback risers from American Sport Bike among other places.

So, I installed superbike bars and gel grips last week, haven't done much riding since so can't say much about the numb right hand problem.
However, after installing the bars and all the controls I feel that the front brake tube seems to be rubbing on the frame/fork when I turn right. I never felt it with the stock bars, but it could be that I'm thinking ahead for problems. Any one encountered this before?

If I remember right, I had to re-route the brake cable.

Hey guys,

I haven't been on here in a while, thought I'd chime in to the forum that's helped me out so much.

So my boss for the summer asks all of us "who's mustard colored bike is that?" I stand up and say "Mustard!? Okay, that's it I'm changing up the bike." What I really wanted to do was paint it, but found some other things to do to it instead.

I need to find something to better mount the fairing though. RIght now it's strapped to the fork and handlebar, which work out quite well. Gave it a test ride, the turn signals blink faster than usual, but all still works.

Paint job is coming soon, hand guards thereafter. After all that...I need to get to a nice road over in north bay.

You're not going to paint over that beautiful yellow plastic are you?
I think somebody recently was looking to trade for yellow. I also know somebody with some well sanded yellow that could go for some new bodywork!

Headlights quite a departure from the 'Bat fairing'!
Pretty sure EZ's straps on and he hasnt had any trouble. (?)

My straps have lasted forever, actually protects vs vibration, and I never have had to change a bulb on the Acerbis - though I have back up available.

That fairing is the highway legal one - great lighting!

hmm...i'm going to try repainting the yellow on the actual frame and then see if I would keep it that color or not.

Yup EZ, the lighting is BRIGHT. I just got home from a friend's house and couldn't believe how much I could see better. My high beam is the other 'eye' of the fairing, and that functions well enough for me. There's another bulb I can connect in the main light as a high beam, but I decided not to.

Rear Brake light won't work, regular light does work. Checked connections at lamp front, new bulb, brought contacts up a bit, checked connection, and line up to flashers and relay, front connection looks solid, checked fuses - s0till no brake light - any sugestions 0 - please?!

When you hit the brake a switch should close. If you can find the switch (1 one for brake lever, 1 for brake pedal - I would think)) then put an ohmmeter across them to verify that the switch closes when the lever & or pedal is pressed.
After that if it's not bulbs or connections or relays then it's gotta be a physical wire issue. You can ohm that out too. don't forget a bad ground / wire can make things behave screwy too.

I'm removing the tail to install a GIVI universal trunk mount. Can these tree fasteners that hold the top plastic to the sub frame be saved, or are they strictly a cut and replace part?
