Damn, that's way too much. I agree on the belt drive also. I'd pay 5 $G's for it. Wouldn't that be nice I would literally kill someone for one of those frames

I know how you feel Indy, I'm waiting on a "German style" helmet. My fullface is too hot in the summer.

Jetted today and added V&H exhaust. Is this a different bike or what!

Gussie: Yes, jetting and the V & H will add something to the top end (and midrange) but (as previously said), you'll notice it more in how much faster it gets there (relative terms). Ditching the stock exhaust is the most bang for the buck that you'll get.

I wonder why EB won't do something like this? It could well sell - with his resources it would come off a grand more than the current Blast, yet probably sell like hot cakes - everyone who sees it loves it!

Yeah man. You guys have been great. Believe I'm going to enjoy this bike. 2nd and 3rd gear where a charge tonite. i still say the best thing about this bike is you can tinker yourself. Stone Mountain Ga Harley will treat you right. going to quit spending $ and ride for awhile. What's the most miles you've ever seen on one?

Why? Because Americans dont want small motorcycles. Small is for beginners, thats why the Blast is as is for 10 years. If Buell had been serious about it as anything but a 'starter' bike, then we might have seen some model changes through the years (we already know the performance parts are being produced, just not applied) And how many do we see that start out on a "big bike" anyway. Ego, ego, ego. Have you noticed how bikes are getting bigger and bigger?

A very small subculture of motorcyclists want a small displacement streetbike (thats not a starter bike) and Buell and Harley Davidson are not known for cheap and small. They are known for big and expensive (how many people are impressed with the fact you even own a Buell, mostly because they think they are expensive). It would take a lot of advertising dollars to get the word out or a seriously competitive, reasonably priced, reliable Blast. A better Blast would be too close in price to a low end Sportster or XB and most people would go for more power (thats the American way). Remember when the Blast was $4495 and the cheapest Sportster was $5695? Thats a tough sell especially when the Sportster would hold (and even increase) in value and the Blast's resale would plummet.

If they could(or would) get the Blast to sell in Europe, then we'd have a chance at a better Blast!

I dunno - I hear a lot of folk talking about getting a single for gas mileage and in-city commuting - you trip over the scooters - lol - funny thing is - the Blast is Buell's biggest seller ever - the bread on his table comes from our model, you think he'd appreciate that and do a limited commemorative run - cafe style - etc - just to acknowledge their longevity - if nothing else. This is the original Buell Cafe model.

Total miles. Why would you make a lot of changes to the largest seller. I've had big bikes and the maintain tab that comes with them. With the blast I still feel like I'm on a motorcycle, especially with the new sound. With 3 daughters I'll bet I can find a hair dryer around here somewhere. thanx boys

Buell sells a lot more Ulys per year than Blasts. Blast has just been around longer.
I think we will see a lot of new innovative bikes from Buell in the future. I just don't understand why every new model has to be a 1200cc. The are ignoring a market of people that want an upright posture street bike in the 600-883cc range.

Tortise - even the Ninja 250 and the KLR got a face lift, the Blast deserves one also, and actually more Blasts are still sold and will continue to sell as long as HD has a Riders Edge program in place. The Uly is Buell's top selling twin. They still sell about 3 Blasts for every Uly. Your right though about the power range that a lot of folks would rather have - the KLR,SV, etc. are all proof of that.

That helmet looks like Sargent Schultz should be under it - lol

Haha, nice. I havent even worn it yet and already I'm sub-conscience about. Oh well It'll beat a fullface on a hot day and It's either this helmet or no helmet. I think it looks cool, and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

That and MeatLoaf in Rocky Horror are the only ones I've seen use that Helmet in real life and I live in SF area - lol - if it works for you fine - your personal safety is always up you though - no judgment there.

Everyone does limited edition bikes. I think they could do a couple of limited edition Blasts.

-1 in an XB frame. sell 200- 500 of them a year

-1 like the one shown above. sell 200-500 of them a year.

-and 1 modeled after a Flat Tracker, with signatures on it. sell 500-1000 of them one year

All would sell. People would pay due to the specialty of them. They could event take orders ahead of time. There are a lot of folks ot there that love singles. Look at the FSSNOC Club....REX

EZ

That is interesting that Buell sells 3:1 Blasts to Uly's. Buell advertises the Uly as their hottest selling bike.
The guys at the nearby Harley stealership say that its rare to ever sell a Blast.
Knowing Buell sells so many more Blasts it is a real surprise that the design is essentially unchanged for 9 years.
My '08 has better decals than the early Blasts though LOL.

"Their Hottest selling twin!" is the quote - lol - still the Blasts Quality has improved though in major areas where it counts - bearings, tires, isolators, the rest of the Blast platform is pretty strong for its intended purpose - only single fans like me like the bike for other purposes as well - ease of maintenance and such - I have a 2000 that is approaching 10 years old and a 2001 approaching 9 years - I ride most days - a stock Blast will end up like VWs in California - a motorcycle that just keeps going - add oil regularly - lol

"Buell advertises the Uly as their hottest selling bike."While the quote may be slightly inaccurate (IDK), Buell doesnt advertise the Blast anymore, Ever see one in the brochure? LOL!

I see plenty of German helmets down here in SoCal.
"I think it looks cool, and at the end of the day that's all that matters." well....at least your wearing a helmet, which is better than nothing and I should know and thats why I'm not dead, seriously. But a better helmet, other than the beanie ('not DOT approved') I was wearing, might have saved me from the head injury and chronic conditions I still suffer.
I believe in your right to choose though. Just thought I'd pass on some first hand experience.

I had just seen the following video a week ago where the Uly is said to be the strongest selling bike:
