I realize this is last minute, but I was hoping some other blasters had today off too in the stlouis area. We are trying to organize a club of sorts that would be called "half liter" and consist of 500cc (or less) riders. Today two or three of us are meeting and going to see the new die hard at ronnies plaza on south lindbergh. If anyone here is free, we are leaving from festus surdyke yamaha parking lot around noon and the movie is a 1:25 matinee. Email me or call if you are meeting us either place. My cell is 6182036980. After the movie we will go on a ride for a couple hours probably. It would really be cool to have a bunch of blasts together. let me know who you are and where we are meeting. Dirk Hicks |

thanks! I need to replace the avon rear already and I can't decide if I wanna blow out another. seems like it would be pretty hard on the bike. |

I'm not sure what damage would be done to a blast by doing a burnout, if you aren't sitting on the seat there isn't much weight there. Once the rear breaks traction any stress to the belt or drive are reduced to normal or less then normal riding stresses. Providing you aren't way up in the R's! As far as I can see the only thing being stressed would be the front brake... maybe the forks and head bearings ... maybe???? But again, once the rear traction breaks... I got so good at doing circle burnouts with my blast that I can write my name. CHUCK. Sometimes it looks a little like OHOOK I'm looking for someone to play tic-tac-toe with me out in front of the Joint (www.thejointbar.com local hard core Harley bar) I'll be O's... LOL! |

Well I broke 10,000 miles on my Blast and am still loving it. I am having a new Avon rear tireput on and I got nearly the miles from one avon as I got from two of the stock dunlop's. But either way with new rear tire it may be time to go tackle the DRAGON again. Keep on Blasting!! John |

You'll notice that the bike will start to shift smoother - especially if adjusted from the Shift Pawl out - lol - GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Ezblast, any word on an '08 Blast with new motor components? Like an XB5 thumper? That would probably be enough to bring me back to the single-cylinder fold! |

I'll answer my own question: NO. S.O.S. for the Blast. Looks like my XB9S will be keeping me on the road for a while. Not a bad thing... |

Improving the lowly Blast is not a high priority for Buell (obviously)! I wonder if the Blast will set a record for the model that has stayed exactly the same for the most number of years? Maybe it already has! |

Pirelli tires - that figures - an XB tranny would be nice but since the Blast also has the Tuber trans - sans trapdoor - that keeps updated parts for that tranny style alive - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Considering the value of a 2001, why not keep it too? Of course, you have to consider who's telling you this! |

2008 gets Pirelli's? I'm not sure if thats good or bad. It'll improve performance greatly, but cause great dissatisfaction with rear tire life. (new buyers wont appreciate the difference a Pirelli makes, having not ridden with the Dunlops) |

anyone notice the "White" blast model? is this the end or will the Blast always be the mother companies trainer bike? |

There was a White Blast last year also. Hopefully it means we still get a choice of white. |

May just be me . . . but has there been any discussion about the 2008 Blast®? What a fabulous motorcycle. |

in truth I want a +500cc Rotax engine in a Dualsport that I can set up for touring and commuting...yes I know that the F650GS is out there and the KLR is probably the perfect bike for what I want but if I could buy a Buell I would be so much happier. Then again a 563 H2O Blast would be cool toooo. |

Court - See the previous posts on this page. I think we've covered it all! Fabulous means never having to change. |

SAD - never changing means no evolution, which means no new renditions or upgrades, which tells us what we already know - the bike is slated to be discontinued - notice White is still the optional color - tells me all I need to know - just Court yanking chains - too bad. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

The Blast upgrade is kinda disappointing for 2008. I do like the Pirelli's though I at least expected some 25th anniversary labeling-Maybe I'm missing it... It's pretty much what I expected for the longest running Buell model. Very few changes in 9 model years... James |

Look at it this way, as long as the Blast is the training bike and it soldiers on unchanged, there's great parts availability. I don't really mind my Dunlops. They handle OK and for commuting and daily driving, I can use the added mileage. |

>>>>Fabulous means never having to change. I absolutely agree. Shades of the KLR. The BLAST®, to me, is one of the most attractive Buells and darn sure the best value. This, by the way, is the 2nd year that white has been offered as one of the two colors. Court |

In truth I was hoping for a "half-a-1125" 2008 Blast or perhaps "half-a-1203". Also fuel injection. Then I would downsize from the XB9S for a lighter motorcycle still very fun to ride. I bought the first 2000 Blast at my dealership so I was hoping for an improved edition. Maybe in 2009... |

Anyone tell me offhand the size of the carb bowl screws? I lost one somehow while riding and need to get another. Rather just go to the hardware store than the stealership. If needed I could pull out another, but hey, kinda lazy today! |
