Sooo... if Trump actually won his lawsuit. Would that set a precedent for every user ever banned from an online forum to sue the owners/moderators of those forums for violating their 1st amendment rights?  I thought republicans were all about companies rights to deny services. Republicans should be against this and democrats should be all onboard. I mean the government (through the judicial system) telling private companies that they cannot have control over what can and can't be allowed to be displayed on their (digital) property does that sound very conservative to you? Really, it's just another way for djt to grift some more money from his supports to fill his pockets and those of his lawyers (if he does pay them). | ||

The basis is the 230 Rule that protects FB, etc. since they aren't publishers. When they act as publishers, they should lose that protection and not get it both ways. | ||

The Funniest part is Donald said, out loud, in public, during the Primary campaign, that he Bribed Hillary for a favor in getting one project through. It was in the context that he Knew Hillary was dirty, and how he knew. That's the kind of Slander any lawyer of an innocent would jump on and press civil charges, ( Since Criminal charges for the bribe is admitting she took it. ) I mean, that's a slam dunk End of a campaign. Getting sued for Slander is a rare thing in politics, as "public figures" have some wiggle room in defamation and hyperbole. "It was a joke" is a common defense. But... Nope. And NOT suing for Slander when your potential opponent says he Bribed you is basically admitting you are guilty, or that you WANT him to win the Primary so you can beat him easily, which was at least HALF the editorial position on all the Party Media coverage. The pundits in the Media openly said so in editorials. ( that Trump was the ideal opponent since he'd lose to her wonderfulness! ) while not mentioning the Other reason Trump got 24/7 high rotation sound bite repetition, that he was great for ratings. ( And thus profits. As proven by ratings after the Biden* Occupation began. ) Centrist and Right pundits mentioned both the ratings and the desire for a sure loser opponent in their editorials. Echoing the latter, with nearly zero objections from those on the Left they quoted. It's been one of those blatant Tells that I don't see admitted or mentioned anywhere. The anti-Trumpers don't mention it, since it admits their Candidate's Guilt. The pro-Trumpers don't... Ditto. Understandable on both sides, eh? Much as there is no mention in American Media of any Mullah declaring a Fatwa against Barack Obama for Apostasy.
