No other info than the pic. It was called a Buell, so I assumed the motor was from a tuber.

Barker had mentioned some dip$hits that have been using the Buell name to make themselves kewl. That's why I'd like to know, build sheet? Otherwise, meh. Fake boobs.

Hard to tell from the photo whether there’s uniplanar mount on the case by the oil filter. Kinda hoping a Buell didn’t die for this.

There is no uniplanar mounts as this is no longer the trellis frame that the uniplanar mounts go with, this frame goes down and under the engine like a traditional motorcycle, you can easily see there is no mount off the front cylinder head where the original mount would’ve been. Probably uses standard Sporty mounts at the bottom rear, front, and up between the jugs. You can also see that the rear of the engine is mounted to the frame instead of the rear axle/frame mount used on the tubers, and the axle pivots off the frame somewhere under the decorative cover. Just another robbed tuber motor thrown in a custom flat tracker style frame. It is better than the typical chopper but still probably does not handle anywhere as good as what it started out as. I bet it’s probably a frame from Santiago Choppers called the Norley which was to take a Sporty and give it a Norton look.

If it were a Buell engine, we might still see the uniplanar mount on the case, regardless of whether it was being used. I don’t see anything Buell about it. Forks, wheels, etc. are not Buell. This looks like any other Sportster engine, from what I can make out in the picture.

Just some thoughts …

Kinda boggles my mind the hate for something that isn’t “pure” Buell on here. How many bikes on the site are 100% factory correct? God knows I’ve changed things on nearly all my vehicles, I chopped my XB12ss cheese grater tail off within a week of buying it from the dealer!

Most all forums and clubs have people who give out their “comments” or “opinions” on something that isn’t theirs—granted we all have our own ideas of what’s cool and isn’t— be it a motorcycle, car, truck, house, building, landscaping, sculpture, art— what’s tasteful or good looking to some could be understated or really hideous to others!

Maybe there needs to be “purist” subsection for those concourse restored or survivor Buells. Or maybe a “WWYD” (WhatWouldYouDo) or “WWED”(WhatWouldErikDo) section, for personal ideas on modifying, not hate or backhanded comments.

We don’t know the history of this bike and the Buell it probably started out as… maybe a wrecked/salvaged bike or maybe just parted out good one? Either way, Someone had an idea, went with it, and had the talent to get it to where it is now!

Is it my style, no!
Is it clean, yes!
Would I changes some things, yes!
Would I take it for a ride, yes!
Would I buy it, probably not unless it was cheap!

It is a motorcycle that looks clean, looks complete, looks like it runs, and that it suits someone’s style and taste! Bravo to whoever made it.

RIDE ON!! RIDE SAFE!!

Yeah... no need for us Buell peeps to be snobs or haters. Just because Wandell killed the brand... oh well. Shit happens.

Thanks for that Wcb. I shouldn't hold my "identity" as a Buell guy against a very fair, if not badasss, bike build. Yeah, I'd ride it and rock it. Very nice bike.

No hate at all. If I put a chevy crate motor in a datsun, is it a chevy? No. That bike is not a Buell. I think it looks great, but call it what it is and don’t call it what it isn’t.

I loved the look of Rickman Metisse back in the '70s. This is kind of a different twist. Is that exhaust Ti or stainless? I like the color scheme of the goldish/copper colored bits from front to back. I have some bronze or brass fasteners similarly deployed, but how can one color the fork tubes? Can't be anodized if they're steel, right, maybe some kind of coating?

Saw a good buddy at SMHD today, with a conjoined exhaust at the rear wheel on a 200d (?) Road Glide. Dang cool looking! Very slick.

Tubers used hopped up Sportster engines, anything related to the uniplanar mounting system was bolted on to already factory existing holes of the Sportster engine hence they were unbolted and removed from this engine. I’m not hating on it just pointing out facts on the uniplanar mounting system. I almost built the same thing when I saw the Norley but they wanted $4k just for the frame so I moved on.

The chassis makes the bike, IMO.

If you have a Datsun with an LS1, you wouldn't call it a Corvette.

My car mechanic has an ancient MG hatchback with HUUUGE meats out back, and a built, Japanese spec Nissan Sylvia crate motor stuffed under the hood. Motor needs some work, he says. It is for sale... ; )

The one time he got beaten on the street was by what looked like Grandma's old Celica. With what looked to be teenagers driving. Apparently they had a twin turbo Toyota something with AWD under the sheep's clothing. Wish I could've seen THAT.

Whoops... back to 2 wheelers, youn's. : )

The YouTube video says, Buell on board. So not saying it's a Buell, it's a Rickman with a Buell on board. That works. I actually like it, nice toy! Definitely a TT racer!

One of the first bikes I rode was a Rickman-Metisse 125 MX. That’s a beautiful looking build.
