Zack, sorry to hear about your brother. Please let us know how your parents are doing. I have a Mother on oxygen, a stepmother with no immune system and a father who will probably out live me but they are all pushing 80. They are all pretty concerned about the virus. Hopefully the vaccine will be the answer. The latest news in Ohio... Dewine is about to put Franklin county back in lock down. Most of the state is in the red with Franklin county fixing to go Purple. AKA, Level 4 emergency. Only leave home for supplies and services... we are gonna get grounded again. Level 1 (yellow, 0-1 indicators): Displays active community spread; all current health orders should be followed Level 2 (orange, 2-3 indicators): Displays increased exposure and spread; besides following all current orders, residents should also exercise a "high degree of caution" Level 3 (red, 4-5 indicators): Displays "very high" exposure and spread; residents should limit activities as much as possible Level 4 (purple, 6-7, indicators): "Severe" exposure and spread; only leave home for supplies and services | ||

Next door neighbor and his wife both had it and beat it. No hospitalization. Both are in their early sixties. She has underlying health issues so it took a little longer. G | ||

Bit of a technicality . . . . . But the ELECTION is 100% over. Counting continues. Electors meet December 14, 2020: Electors Vote in Their States Monday after the second Wednesday in December of presidential election years is set (3 U.S.C. §7) as the date on which the electors meet and vote. In 2020, the meeting is on December 14. States all need to certify.  Then . . . . Someone takes the reigns in January. | ||

One of my gripes is there is sooooooomuch misinformation. Someone gave me a lecture the other day about the 25th Amendment and tossing a President out of office. Turns out . . . . You guessed it. . . . They hadn’t read it. Pretty much the “typical pundit” in the age when no ones reads anything requiring longer than 30 seconds and considers the internet “news”. I’ve got to get one of those Twitter or Facebook accounts so I can see what the hell is going on. Reading the Constitution, Court Cases and facts only confuse issues. | ||

Court, there are some foolish imho, opinions that a Biden Win would remove the incentive to push the Narrative of "plague gives the State Supreme Power, & Trump is at fault for everything we did, ever". I both disagree and consider that prediction naive. Or insufficiently observant. As one buddy opined, now that "it's over" ( it's not ) there's no rational reason to continue the lockdown of the economy, and Emperor Cuomo must want to avoid the Inevitable and growing escape from his State, to keep "his economy" aka tax base, from eroding further. A completely political view of this subject. My take is that since the Emperor now rules by Whim and Dictate, there's zero reason for him to care about economic realities. He has months to go of Power to wield as he pleases. And is utterly intolerant of dissent. It's a Golden Age for authoritarian A-holes. The above completely ignores the medical aspects of the plague of the day. We shall see over the next months if I'm right about my statement that living under D Party rule is, after age, diabetes, and COPD, the most important pre-existing condition leading to dying of Covid-19. It's possible the Cuomo Massacre was throwing off my statistical analysis. | ||

I, for one, agree. (D) control simply means more lockdowns, more dictates, more regulations, and more random rules. As always. 99.969% recovery rate - ACCORDING TO THE CDC - but people still freak out about "CASE COUNTS". The place I work - Frederick County MD - is going back to stage 3 lockdowns: masks REQUIRED anytime you're in public (including outdoors!); maximum occupancy for restaurants and bars is 25 patrons (not "per XX square feet", but PERIOD). 'Cause there's a lot of "science" there. 25 people in a 100SF cafe is one thing. 25 people in a 10,000SF fine dining restaurant like Dutch's Daughter (4 stories, with multiple indoor AND outdoor eating spaces) is something else entirely. But, someone decided to put a cap on 25 people PERIOD - a nice, round, random "safe" number just like "ten" is a nice, round, random "safe" number for how many bullets a person can carry in a magazine. Total bullshit. And, it'll only get worse. Why? Because they'll be drunk with power. They will have just successfully stolen a Presidential election. Their president-elect will have successfully dodged any sort of inquiries into his dirty family's history, and business dealings, with the rulers of other nations. They...will feel invincible, and they'll take advantage of us every chance they get. And, we're letting them. | ||

The deaths they count are gray areas, such as the guy who died in a M/C crash. A lot have been old folks who were just hanging on with some other respiratory problem and the Covid may or may not have pushed them over the edge. Plus, the stories of hospitals getting money for each Covid death does cast doubt on the even now low death rate. |
