Last night on NBC news it was funny to see Lester and his fellow Party Censors panicking over Trump without his mask on the WH balcony. Conspicuously absent was any discussion of what are the rates of infection to hospitalization (for ordinary folk, not the POTUS) and rates of infection to death or even bad long term effects. | ||

Which, in the context of a Civil War to free the slaves and the decades of struggle to force the government to accept equal rights exist no matter skin color, is laudable. I'll mention that one of the Parties opposed equal rights for all, didn't want to give up slavery, and supports genocide against blacks to this day. So THAT struggle isn't over. However, in the context that there must be no difference in health problems between races, or at least a "plan" aka a magic spell must be written, before anyone will be allowed by the Glorious Leader to work for a living? That's not insane. That's fundamentally dishonest. Not even guys who think they are Napoleon think that Marin County can write a plan to magically make Sickle cell anemia cases be equal between humans of African descent & Chinese descent. And the ONE thing a government could do, control the diet of everyone except, of course, the Leaders, is more a hypocritical dictatorship than any in human history, although N. Korea's fat God King comes close. It's not about health. Not about Covid-19. Not even about racism, except how it's being exploited. | ||

Wuhan locals say the city's coronavirus lockdown caused severe "trauma" to the the city's economy and its residents' collective psyche. All of us are learning about this on the fly. It was a new disease. There are a lot of things we didn’t know. I love Tucker, but that statement in itself...is wrong. This is A "coronavirus". "Coronaviruses (coronaviri?)" have been around for millenia. They cause, among other things, the common cold. This is not "new". A new FORM? Maybe. But viruses are not new. Communicable diseases are not new. Coronavirus' are not new. The science IS there - it's a virus. We know viruses. The family is not new. The theory is not new. We've dealt with viruses - and with CORONAviruses - for centuries. What they're doing to society...is a bullshit excuse for a power play. And fearmongering. Period. | ||

Wrong. From the CDCs own website: Nationally, during week 40, 2,014,912 specimens were tested for SARS-CoV-2 for diagnostic purposes and 98,338 (4.9%) were positive. This is decreased compared with week 39, during which 5.2% of specimens tested were positive. The percentage of specimens testing positive increased slightly in those aged 5-17 years and those 65 years and older while remaining stable or decreasing in all other age groups Week 40, by the way, is October 9. Fatality rates are also still dropping. | ||
