Pwnzer, I'm in Ellijay. My old riding buddy turns 87 on Thursday. They went to Jim's over the weekend and found out Jim's was closing for vacation so they got some ribs to go for me. Now those are good friend's to have!! |

BTW, I worked on the trailer wiring today and found a bad ground. That figures, I put a BadWeb sticker on the trailer and I end up with a ground problem!! Who da thunk it!? |

Ba Da Ba Bap Baaa- I'm Crustin' It!! Idea- we should persuade Jim down at the BBQ joint in Blairsville to put "Crusted Ends" on the menu. IIRC that was a curious omission on the menu, no burnt ends. |

"Crusted Ends" Are you implying that I'm burned out? |

"Are you implying that I'm burned out?" Naahh... the best burnt ends are crusty, but still moist inside. |

It's pretty rare to find a place that offers real burnt ends. By this I mean the literal burnt ends, tips, scraplins, shrapnel, leavings and other grill or smoker detritus and the dribblins of sauce associated therewith Most places just cut up some meat and drown it in sauce, then put it back in the smoker for a while. It's good, but... It's not really burnt ends. If Jim's was doing that, then I would be on board. |

Matthew; the burnt ends that Greg and I had at Velvet Smoke were quite tasty. If you ever get up this way, I'll be happy to take you there and you can judge for yourself. Your taste buds will be happier for it. |

I'll take you up on that one day. I didn't mean that I don't like the "burnt ends" offered at a lot of BBQ joints, just that they're not really burnt ends by definition. If it's not an end, and it's not burnt, then it's not burnt ends. I just think they should name it something else. How about Snacky Bits or BarbeQubes or Saucy Squares... Just me being nit-picky. |

See? It leans! (ok, so technically the "wrong way", but still...it's leaning!) |

Needs some kind of hinge system on the wheel so you can lean it into the turns. |

I left Ellijay Georgia on Saturday morning and had a great ride to Nashville. It was cloud covered 90% of the way with cool air. The next morning I headed home in the same cloud cover and made it to Illinois and could see a darker sky to my left so I got off the interstate and checked my map. I wasn't too far from a new micro brewery in DuQuoin. The state fair is going on too so I meandered my way there and it was a nice place with a huge brunch. After a flight of samples I checked the radar and it looked like I could get to Sparta in between the rain. I headed out and about half way there it started to rain lightly. I ramped up the speed and tucked in and I stayed dry. It let up after about ten minutes and I made it to another brewery. As soon as I got a beer the skies unloaded. Timing is everything! After a couple more samples and some good BS with the owners I headed out to finish my ride and never saw anymore rain. So I made the whole trip and never used my rain gear! Good to be home but really enjoyed seeing everybody and enjoying the ride! |
