Well, Mark- if you remember correctly that's how it was done in the beginning. Vern had brought plenty of Coors Light screwcap beer (blech), and there are other brands that do screwcap cans. Never understood that design, but, it allows for a "bang". The shrapnel isn't much to worry about, just tell folks to turn their heads. Better than fireworks! You can't recycle old firecrackers. Just sayin'. The screwcap beer cans provided another level of funnin', without a lot of danger. Trust me. | ||

It's alive! Putting that muffler on was the worst part of the project! I need to get some miles on her this weekend and make sure all is kosher, but she's running well and seems to be easier to start to boot. | ||

WELL... the Wing decided to eat a battery... its dead as a door nail. The bummer is, its pretty much a new battery. I have it on the charger but I may still get a new one before I head to WV. I took it for a ride a few days ago and all of a sudden the cruise control was working. I thought this is SWEET... I guess it wasn't! | ||

I feel your pain... s3 was golden. And purring until I got home after 40ish miles and left it idling to check for exhaust leaks. It stalled and wont start without a lot of throttle, plus it wont stay running long enough to spray the intake. I think i pinched a seal | ||

I hope you get it figured out James! It hurts to get it right and have something else fail! I just need to finish the laundry, do the dishes and load mine up. Goal is to head out at 7:00 in the morning at 68 degrees!! YES! I'll lose an hour heading to Crusty's so even with that I should be there for Q!! I even remembered to put my new trailer plate sticker on. Last time I remembered to put it on was 2014! | ||

Tootal, Take a good look at your route passed Indianapolis. 465 on the South East side is closed east bound. https://www.wthr.com/article/major-i-465-closure-g ets-underway-southeast-side There are not any great routes around it. I would take 70 East to Washington St. to South Eastern to 74. | ||

I'm going to bring my little stove and pot for water. Is somebody bringing coffee and a french press? I can swing by the store and get some fresh ground, but I don't have either a percolator or a press. I can also bring some packets of instant, if nobody wants to make real coffee. | ||

I will have my press. A can of Folger's Breakfast Blend and a can of Maxwell House Classic. I will also have a quart of heavy cream, a tea kettle or two and a two burner Coleman stove. If you want to bring your own grind, feel free. | ||

I can live quite happily with Haxwell Mouse or Folders. It sounds like you've got it all covered, so I'll leave my coffee making gear at home. Two days from right now, we'll be sitting by the fire, shooting the Bull.  | ||

I just threw my clothes in the trailer and nothing left but to shut the house down and put on my boots. I have a coffee press and cups and a stove in the trailer. Sounds like we have the morning's covered!! Safe travels everybody! | ||

I have to chuckle at this. In the old days, I would be more concerned about who was bringing the beer and what brand was it. I remember going to the old rally at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky and never leaving the camping area, except when we went to town to get more liquor. Warm peppermint schnapps at 9:00 AM really isn't a good breakfast. There's a whole story to go along with that, but I'll save it for another time. | ||

Greg is here. We went to Velvet Smoke for dinner and had the Burnt Ends and baked beans. I recommend them (both Velvet Smoke and the burnt ends) wholeheartedly. We'll see everyone tomorrow. |
