Hi all! I know it's been a hot minute since I posted anything about the goins' on in our neck of the woods. Glitch asked me to write this post for him to let everyone know what is going on. He has an upcoming surgery and would like a little help with getting some good mojo out into the universe. His battle with sinus infections has continued over the last few years. He's averaged 2-3 each year, requiring kick ass antibiotics and steroids. Just before Christmas, he had a headache for 2 days with pressure around his eyes, that wouldn't go away. We made an appointment with his ENT, the same one he had from the very beginning when he was admitted into the hospital in 2014. The doc said everything appeared to be fine with his sinuses from what he could see in the exam, and felt that it might be migraines. Since it had been a couple of years since there'd been a CT scan done, and given Glitch's history, he ordered one just to be on the safe side. Sure enough, the scan showed "an acute infection of the sinuses behind the left eye". So began another course of antibiotics and steroids. Glitch had a follow up appointment January 15th, and the doc said there were several areas of concern with the CT scan. Bottom line is Glitch's sinuses absolutely do not drain. The doc showed us the images of the scan, and there are globs of infection that are basically just bubbling around in there, only getting worse. The structure of the sinuses is "defective". So, the doc has made the decision that the only remedy is to perform surgery to re-build the sinuses so they will drain properly. The doc was brutally honest with how painful and tough the recovery is going to be. But, it really is the only option left. This surgery was originally supposed to have been performed back in 2014 by this same doctor. But when Glitch started going down hill, the neurosurgeon had to move the brain surgery up to an emergency status, removed the upper sinuses and cleaned the infection from the brain. They were not able to perform the sinus reconstruction because he was too unstable. The surgery is scheduled for February 20th. We have complete faith and confidence in the doctor and trust his decision and ability fully. Even though the recovery is going to suck, Glitch (and me too!) are looking forward to the possibility that he will be feeling more normal once it's all over. So, once again dear hearts, please send up some prayers and keep us in your thoughts. I'll of course let yall know how things go after the surgery. Love yall! | ||

One thing I know way too much about is sinus surgery. Cutting new drains is going to be bad (I've had it done). Really loud rock and roll on a stereo system helps with the recovery. Once he gets done with the horrible mess try cutting out all dairy products. Ten bucks says it'll keep any future operations at bay. They're doing something weird to the cows, I'm not sure what. Hormones, antibiotics? A SinuPulse machine is a real good investment, too. Best wishes for the Glitch family! | ||

Mojo from here. Glitch's big shit eating grin at Twos, riding shot gun in a side car, is requested. BADWEB mojo is a two way street. His recovery from that first round was good for all of us. These trials are like a deep knee drag where you find a wet spot mid corner. Feel the tires looking for grip, keep your feet on the pegs, hand on the throttle, and never loose focus! | ||

RD, LOL!!! I never realized Glitch looked so much like Shaggy!! February 20th, eh? Pre-surgery eats, feel goods, mental and physical prep... I'm sure youns got all that covered. As Court said, let us know what's needed. Maybe someone can make a Jim's BBQ run... I'll speak with my sis soon. She's a chaplain with Little Rock Baptist Hospital systems, I've always valued her $.02 more than most.  | ||
