I don't appreciate being mocked. My veganism is the core of my nutritional and spiritual universe. It's who I am. It's what I am. I lead a cruelty free lifestyle.
I do cheat a little...I eat veal. I don't know how they get it so tender. Amazing.
Lol. Can't claim that one. Saw some standup one night. Can't remember who it was. She was pretty funny though.
I won't eat anything marked "organic" since I know what organic fertilizer is, and how it exploits animals.
I also don't like to eat anything that doesn't have an ingredient that I have a hard time pronouncing. Lucky for me Hostess Snoballs have several. Some not found in this dimension.
And I always specify the High Gluten Pizza from the local parlor. It's excellent. Medium crust ( thicker than New York City, just ) real cheese and a decent sauce. They specialize in Gluten Free products, and I always insist on the extra gluten, before they ask the inevitable "want that gluten free?".
Lucky for me they have a sense of humor.
For the tiny fraction of the population with Celiac disease, You have my sympathy. I have friends with various food allergies, like Shellfish or Curry, and it can be a challenge to get together for dinner.
While I don't have a problem with people making efforts in general fitness, there's always some silly trend or regimen people are following. It's also become fashionable to look like you're headed to/from the gym. While that's generally okay, much like spandex back in the day, some folks are obviously not!
I have found that if left to their own devices, Cross-Fit people self-correct by damaging themselves.
Two of my friends have done this. One with a bad back now. One has a trick shoulder.
Paying to pretend to have a bad job pounding on tires with a hammer? Why not just work part time at UPS? At least they will pay workmans comp if/when you damage yourself unloading feeders.
"It seems that people have this warped idea of vegans being malnourished and weak," Strydom was quoted as saying. "By climbing the seven summits we want to prove that vegans can do anything and more."
Looks like they can't!
Also regarding gluten, the fad pisses off my girlfriend who is unable to eat it, it already is hard enough to find food that isn't contaminated, but because of the fad diet people don't take her allergy seriously.
Though, to be fair to vegetarians, lots of people die on that mountain. I wouldn't make it to base camp, and I had brisket for lunch . Maybe that's why I wouldn't make it to base camp...
