Glitch, Denise and I just finished watching a video produced by RoadRunner magazine, featuring one of their four-day "Shamrock" tours, this one in based in the Smokies. In the vid they stopped at TWO and there is a nice several-minute interview with GT.

Denise and I only made it there the one time (Buelltoberfest several years ago), but sure enjoyed the place, and the hospitality. I remember reading about TWO when I was much younger, and always wanted to go there and see it myself.

Please give Britt and GT a hug from us - wish we could come down and do so in person.

Ride safe, brother.

225 miles of twistie north Georgia goodness.
I took some pictures, but it's on a film camera so I'll finish the roll tomorrow, and post 'em up then.
Weather was perfect, roads were less so.
Sand and nonsense in some corners, Wolf Pen was an interesting ride slide, but all in all is was a great day.
GT pulled the pool out of the ground, and will fill in the hole shortly.
We cooked out, but not many of us were there, waiting for tomorrow I reckon.
More good ol north Georgia twisted madness tomorrow, T'W.O is the HQ as usual (last time I reckon), hope to see some of y'all!

Glitch, I finally got a chance to ride today, my first spin in the Appalachians since November. It was a glorious spring day, and I was reminded anew of why this area feels so very, very much like my ancestral home.

I've already jacked this thread sumthin' brutal. Mind if I abscond with just a teeny bit more?

It was 32.2 degrees at 0330 this morning, yet this afternoon a balmy 70 frikkin' degrees. Astounding. It's been in the 20's twice in the past week, and four days ago we had a skiff of snow on the ground. Today, however, was what we endure the winter for.

It was such a fine day, in fact...

...that Andy and Opie decided to go fishin'.

Hallmarky, perhaps, but the gospel truth.

At the North Carolina/Virginia border. This is a Very. Nice. Road.

Remember your history lessons from high school?

This is where I ended up today.

Glitch, you're a gentleman of the South. I know you know who J.E.B. Stuart was.

I spent an hour at Laurel Hill this afternoon. I was the only one there. I somberly toured the grounds, and tried my best to imagine what life was like in the Appalachian foothills 180 years ago. This was a quiet, introspective time. I imagined how dear a place like this could be, now, and especially then.

I wonder: When this country has had enough of its so-called leaders, when our so-called "United" States have had their fill of having an oppressive, overbearing central government cramming their agenda down our throats, will it be Rebels that lead the way to new freedom? I believe so, my friend, I truly believe so.

Denise and I have lived in the South for four years now. Being here, immersing ourselves in the history, gaining a better appreciation for the word "sovereign," it is much easier to understand why so many were willing to sacrifice so much during the Civil War.

I hope you had a filling, spiritual day today. We really wish we could be there to show our support to Britt and GT. Please do your best to tell them we care.

Jerry,
Spooned a new set of PR2s on the bike last night with my new tire changer and made a lap around KVegas. Wanted so bad to head up your way and say hi, but will be on the road for the next month (other than a few weekend days), so hung with Heather and the new addition to the family, Aster the pup, since I'll not see them much... Still want to do Burkes next weekend!

A gentleman of the South.
You have no idea what that would have meant for my grandparents to hear.
Thank you.
It sure is nice to hear someone not from the South, to get the South.
There are many that come an look, and appreciate what they're looking at, but only a few see.
I wonder:
Now you know what's meant by
The South shall rise again.
It has nothing to do with the War of Northern Aggression.
It has everything to do with the independent nature of Southern People.
Forgive me a bit of prejudice, but especially of the Mountaineer, the Hillbilly and the Valley Folk.
They're IMHO are the epitome of self reliance and independence.
Welcome to the South Jerry.
We're glad to have ya.
I'm taking more pictures today, I hope they turn out, all I have at the moment is a throw away film camera.
My digital is dead RIP

M1Combat!! Long time, brudda!

Me 'n D are moto-adventure junkies, to be sure. I'm officially AARP-eligible these days, but I'm gonna sponge up as much life as these ol' bones will allow with the time I've got left. One of these days I reckon I'll hafta have the Road King converted into a trike, but 'til then we're still leaning every chance we get. : )

Hey, we were briefly in your neck of the woods recently (Deer Valley, north Phoenix), but we were both sick with the flu and never got a chance to get out and visit. We've got extremely fond memories of ripping up Highway 191 with you and Ruben - that still ranks as one of the coolest rides I've ever done.

Hope you're well, looking forward to hooking up with you and Bart and the gang again one of these days. : )
