I know you know the Little Switzerland area like the back of your hand. After my birthday bash there last October I ordered digital files of several of our passes past Mr. and Mrs. Blindkenny.com:
And got this very cool reply from Mrs. BK:
Just wanted to say what a blast we had watching you enjoy your ride on 226A!! We were both amazed at what you were able to do with your Harley! You kept both my husband, Ken, and I on our toes trying to catch you in action. Thanks both for the order and for the chance to see you riding! Hope we see you out in the curves again but until then enjoy the ride.

If my pig-of-a-Harley will carve corners like that (uh-oh, Blake's gonna think I called it a sportbike...), I can only imagine what the new touring platform can do. Oh, to be a rich man.
Perhaps, but the arrow is an integral component in the equation, as well.
Thanks for starting this thread. I don't get a chance to post much anymore, between w*rk and the fact I don't have a Buell, so I have to jump in when I can.
Glitch that post wasn't directed at you at all. I was just thinking that there were some good things that came to Buell due to Harley Davidson and it shouldn't be forgotten. I make a living from Harley Davidson motorcycles and riders and I am more than grateful for that and would never, ever think of biting the hand that feeds me. On the flip side I could never be considered a Harley sycophant either. I love my job and I am fully aware at how rare that is(especially now a days) and I can't imagine doing anything else.
All bikes have their weak points and bad owners...it's the percentage that interests me. Most Harley owners as a rule are good people. They help me to love what I do.
Seriously though, I'd not want you to ditch your RK, as I said earlier, you like it way too much to do that and it is a good bike that was once on my wish list. I don't need another sport bike. Next machine I buy will either be dirt, dual, or cruiser.
Enlighten you? Hah! You're the one living on the Blue Ridge Parkway!
The only enlightenment that might benefit you would be a full blown track day on a properly set up late model Buell.
Blake, do you remember the photos I posted of my FJR with the Buell stickers on it at the MotoGP at Laguna? I'll take your suggestion under advisement.
The only enlightenment that might benefit you would be a full blown track day on a properly set up late model Buell.
I would literally LEAP at the opportunity, my brudda!
At the bottom of the following page are pix from the day Denise and I met Twig and Nance (aka RedUly) for the first time, heading up, of all places, the back side of Burke's Garden:
plus everyone knows you can't take a Road King off-road (wink, wink)...
r i g h t....I must have been dreaming that day, while about to have a heart attack as we rode up the back side of Burke's Garden. Never been so nervous on the back of the Uly and at the same time so glad I didn't ride solo that day. I would have dropped my bike and cried, countless times before making it to paved side of Burke's Garden!
Kristi, you should have seen how many times I dropped the Road King and cried that day we first rode with Nance and Twig up there!!
That was a most excellent day with all y'all (partly on account of all the glaciers had melted...). Not too many people can say they've ridden into Burke's Garden the "wrong" way. You're part of a very exclusive club!
When are you and Carlos coming up again for Mountain Grass? (Um, no hurry - we're supposed to get snow again tonight). You haven't put him on notice again, have you?????????
Hey Glitch, me 'n D were sniffing around in Haughton, Louisiana a couple weeks ago and were delighted to discover that the Haughton town mascot is a pirate!
How cool is that! We have a Gap named after my Grand Dad's family. Herren Gap, it's way back in the hills, and unfortunately got renamed several years back after I-40 was built.
There this old joke that my son likes. "What's a pirate's favorite letter?" You of course answer "R" "No, it's the sea!" Well he gets a real kick out of this little joke, so he asks his friend. "What's a pirate's favorite letter?" His answer "A" Silence "Doesn't 'are' start with "A"? More silence. My son is laughing so hard he can't breath. His other favorite pirate joke. Little Johnny is a pirate for Halloween. He gets to the door, knocks. "Trick or treat!" "Oh how cute, a little pirate, where are your buccaneers?" "They're under my buckin hat lady!"
We were in the neighborhood so took a quick tour of Haughton. Not much there, and unfortunately it was on a Saturday, so the Town Hall was closed - I REALLY wanted that "Haughton Buccaneers" pirate banner they had hanging in the window!!
That sure is a FINE looking Uly you are standing next too Jerry! Needs new tires though....
Reep, agree, a mighty fine steed, but your tires are still holding air in this pic taken later that day...
...and they got you all the way back to Ohio in one piece, plus the price was right (and ya can't beat the service at Prior's Garage & Beer Joint!), so from where I'm sitting, I'm thinkin' your tires look a lot fresher than I do in that pic...

...and you have the t-shirt to prove it!
Glitch, I forgot to compliment you on your cool t-shirt design earlier. I dig it, and try to wear it anytime we've got Buellers over, such as during this visit from Charlieboy last year:
As you can see, not only do I look more weathered and aged than Reep's tires, I've got the world's shortest legs, too! I'd have flipped up the kickstand for the photo, but I can't reach the derned thing on a Uly.
That was a good day!
Indeed it was, Reep. Thx, as always, for the honor of your company.

Thanks FB! Sometimes someone somewhere says something and reminds you of something almost irrelevant, yet stems from something more so, much more so, and at the same time more in the present moment than an bright idea. GlitchCo, had a bright fast beginning, then shortly thereafter started to cost way more than was coming in, and of course had very poor timing to do such a thing. So, I just put it on the back burner (after all the back burner still worked a little bit.) Things are different now, more settled, I think it's time.
We're headed out here in a little bit. There's this man up in the hills that's cooked us lunch, given the best hospitality, and has had the best staff ever, for many years. This weekend we're going to return that favor, it's long over due. It's funny how TWO closing is bringing folks together that have been too far apart for too long.
