Wow, No_rice's is even worse! What makes people want to jump pick ups? You couldn't find a more poorly balanced vehicle to use, except maybe a semi truck.

the rear leaf suspension doesn't help ether. most shocks don't have enough rebound control, thus causing a rapid unloading and the rear end of the truck to jump up higher then the front. The second video is a perfect example.

Back in the 80's, there was a high incidence of F150 accidents in the Gulf Coast Region. This was of such concern that Ford installed devices similar to voice cockpit recorders (VCR's) in all the F150's sold in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee to try to determine the causes of all those crashes. The VCR would run a tape loop about 30 seconds or so long, that would stop recording when a collision was detected, so you got the last 30 seconds of sound before a crash.
After a couple of years of gathering data from crashes, including the VCR's, Ford determined that the most common event recorded before a crash (other than "Oh Sh*t!!"), was "Hold my Beer and Watch This".

Speaking of The general lee, anyone watch the special features on that remake movie they did? The movie wasn't very good, but it was neat to see how they set up the jumps. The big "bridge is out" jump actually used a giant cable-driven slingshot... the car wasn't even running. Bad thing about those car movies is how many classic cars they destroy in the process.

"And it never got dirty no matter what they drove through...."
You knew it was a bad @ss vehicle when it could squeal tires on a dirt road.
Speaking of big rig jumping, someone tried it, it was on one of those shows with the moto cross guru and they were putting together a jump with cars, bikes, bicycles and what not then someone jumped his dad's big rig. It was pretty neat to watch but I can't seem to find it.

That vw rabbit pickup owner is really not happy
His car/truck (whatever you wanna call those damn things) just got totaled.. heck a cracked windshield and a little scratch in the paint would probably total one of them.

Kyrocket - that would be the Nitro Circus guys doing the Guiness Book records show. 50 feet plus, as I recall. That was done right here in Utah just down the road a piece.
