it doesn't look as comfortable as what I might expect from a cruiser style bike. Pegs are too far back.

I'd be looking for something more along these lines, comfortwise:

To each his own, I can't stand forward controls and the parachute riding position.

Exactly Bikertrash. A "standard" foot position is as far forward as I can go. I feel like I'm hanging on for dear life and not fully in control.

V-Rod draped in Armani clothes. I love my V-Rod, but I agree: The forward controls don't allow any relief for your butt. Some guys somehow can use the V-Rod's passenger pegs, or have a Street Rod version with mids. The Duc looks more comfortable as far as foot position.

The Duc is aiming at the VMax crowd.

Both of them.

Yep, it's for real.

The Diavel - Bolognese for Devil.

It was announced at the recent Ducati dealers meeting in Las Vegas.
It is supposed be like an Italian V-max.

Now there is a really great idea, am I right?

And, oh, by the way, this isn't for first time that Ducati has tried a stunt this stupid.

Anyone remember the Indiana?

In Ducati's defense, wasn't the Indiana built by Cagiva?

Something tells me that for half the price I'll stick with a new Vmax.

As for forward controls being comfortable, it's not my ass I'm worried about. It's my old aching knees.

If you are looking for that riding position then you cant go wrong with the B-King Suzuki with ABS.All the power and torque any sane man would ever need, nearly unparalleled braking system, fuel injection, water cooled, and pretty good suspension travel. They are also going for fire sale prices like the 1125 because only the 2008 model will make it to the US. Matter of fact I just sold my Sportster and plan on buying one next.

B-KING!!! AGGGHHHHH (Homer Simpson drooling over a sandwich). If I could find a good deal on one, I would sell the XB in a heartbeat. Unfortunately there are so few of them in the midwest that finding one for sale is like finding a Ferrari in a trailer park. You know there has to be one or two, but darned if I can find em.

They are all over the place. I live in the Chicago metro area and have gone to 4 dealerships and sat on many. Cycle Trader has scads of them nationwide. It is a bit harder to find a used one because most buyers tend to keep them. Also the ABS models are fewer than the standard.Got my eye on one in Arizona.

I went to the Ducati Factory and saw the "Devil" in the flesh, twice! I was waiting outside the gate for the scheduled time for my tour and it came out of the gate with a Multi as a chase vehicle and I didn't have my camera ready, that time. As I was leaving the factory, headed for the gate, the bikes came back in and this time I had my camera out. I got a few shots and will share them in the near future. The "Devil" was covered in that black foam/tape mess as pictured above but you can see the overall shape. Sounded pretty good too! I gave the guy riding it the thumbs up when he went past on the return trip, he nodded.
