Stage 3 415 hp go with the 427 R and add another 115 horses to that. Swampy next time your down let me know and I will take you to the museum so you can see the newer vehicles. That goes for anyone that comes out here. Jack Roush has a museum two buildings down from me that he stores all his personal cars in. Anyone wants to go just let me know. Dave imagine a f150 with 445 horse power and 500 foot lbs of torque. You can have one.hehehe

Dave I've known the guy since I was a young kid. My brother is not a bull shitter either. As far as the truck running what it did ?? He did it for a laugh. He could care less if it ran 20 seconds as long is it can travel in comfort and haul his/wifes bikes to where ever they go. As far as it being stock they did something I guess with Mass air, chip and the frigg'n exhaust thats louder then frigg'n hell as far as I'm concerned. Now the drag strip is about 12 miles or so away from me and its the kind of track that you'd see Mom's station wagon in burnout box. I've seen plenty of trucks run 14's all day that have little done to them and they rust box's. Now a truck of this nature being new and these engines have come a long way as far acceleration concerned.... there no longer just stump puller's,they haul ass for what they are.

Thanks Big Daddy. Although I haven't had any issues yet,I'm really NO Honda fan. The truck does everything well, but its a rattle box. I plan on owning it for 2 more years and not owning another Honda again. I just think the little truck could\be smoother and quieter then it is.

The Element is my first Honda and I'll keep it until it dies. It's the all purpose everything hauler and commuter around here. 5 people using it and has some serious mileage, 90K+, so it's worth nothing. Nothing but tires, brakes, oil so I can't complain.

They are stupid loud on the road noise.

The WRX Sti has to grow on you IMHO. You need to go drive one and let me know what you think Nearly 300HP off the showroom floor,,,exhaust, downpipe, chip it,,,,340 is easily attainable.

One other thing that I noticed,,,,while driving it you can't see how ugly it is The thing freaking rocks -- it will totally run away from the Mustang.

For the extra $7000 it costs over the Mustang GT, I should certainly hope so.

we did up one of my friends 06 crew cab shotbox turbo diesel. put turbo back exhaust, intake, and a juice with something or other(cant remember the exact name) computer tuner on it.

it was putting down a little over 1000 pound ft and about 850 horse and it didnt even have the propane injection. bone stock internals

in 2wd it would smoke the tires all the way through 5th gear(auto) and in 4wd it would smoke all the tires through the first 3 gears. it was one of the most rediculous trucks i have ever ridden in, and my daily driver used to be a 425 horse 383 stroker motored shortbox regular cab S-10 with 4.11's.

i try not to underestimate the diesel's anymore.

With that type of work done to it I can see it doing under 14. I was simply stating that a stock off the floor one wont.

You'd probably get a better time with a dually than with a lighter truck, more rubber on the floor & more weight transfer to keep it sticking.

Just as an aside to this, me & a buddy had a play with 2 Volvo cabover tractors in our nice tarmac'ed 1/2 mile long yard at work,
both running 440 horse engines, one with a 12 speed manual & the other with I-shift, same engine, same box just computer controlled.
We got in 3 runs before the boss gave us a bollocking & then asked interestedly about the results.

The I-shift was overall winner in auto & in preselect but the manual gave better control off the line.

Adult toys aren't normally judged by price,,,,,YMMV.

I still do not believe a mostly stock truck can run mid 13 second 1/4 miles.
Anyone else on this thread ever seen this happen?
I could, of course be wrong.
Where's Rocketman, he would know.

Sorry I'm late to the party. My lateness is due to my dislike for diesels. They do zilch for me. They stink and are noisy.

I can only offer this as a long time petrol head oracle who's forgotten more than he ever knew.

Around about 1979 Mercedes had a 450SEL saloon car in production. It came with various petrol engine options, one of which if memory serves was a 6.9 ltr, the largest displacement offered. I can't get the brain to remember the exact time but it was in the 13's. Maybe 13.25 comes to mind? It was back then the 1/4 mile record holder for stock production four door saloon car and it was regarded by many as remarkable given the size and weight of the big Merc.

Could we compare a big modern diesel to such an old behemoth? I'd give it to the old Merc but those diesels do pull like freight trains. I hate it when some tit in a works turbo diesel van has his foot flat down in the outside lane at 100+ mph thinking he's Michael Schumacher, and he isn't going to make your overtake easy because it took him 3 miles to get up to speed. There's the other turbo diesel tit too. The one who likes the traffic light grand prix. Once they've got past second gear they assume they've shown you something unbelievable about their diesel shitter keeping up with your petrol engined effort that should easily have beat their oil burner but didn't. Hey wake up. It's become monotonous.

I have the stealthiest machine about. A 2000 Grand Caravan. I can have an orgy in the back & drive right by police cars. Slowly, I admit. Bought as a "program car" ( ex-rental) 80K miles, so far, crank angle sensor, trans line leak, p/s pump, trans line leak, trans line leaks..... But, all in all, solid car. I would have saved money if I just replaced all under carriage lines with stainless braided, but it was winter & I was in a hurry. No big mechanical failures, just a sensor ( with electronics it's a random chance thing, no car company is exempt ) & leaky lines ( which you might blame on the dealer, & ,NY rust )

I think there was a dip in quality when Daimler bought Chrysler, but it's getting better. At this point, the German made cars (Audi, VW ) are getting worse qc than the American made ones. ( especially Toyota & Honda made in the U.S. )

Speak for yourself about Toyota. The problems you have listed on your van,I haven't had with all my Toyota's (5 of them)put together. They have costed me nothing but tires and brake pads.

That's bloody typical. I'd be more impressed if you'd have said that about anything other than a Japanese built vehicle.

Sunday after the Packer Game one of my Bartender's leased a Jeep Commander. Its got the 6 in it,semi loaded. I grabbed his key's and checked it out. Not Bad,actually really liked it. I'm going to drive one that has V8 in it and leather....gotta have it. But I can say I wasn't dissatisfied with the 6.

Yeah I know but to have all the bells and whistles versus just the base Hemi. I don't know. I don't really tow anything that would require it and the gas mileage sucks.
