Well .. F^&k

Had planned to be up there this weekend but a small financial crisis and finding out that I am taking over for a co-worker that just got layed off .. in addition to my current job have put a damper on that.

The wife and I will try and ride up sunday if rain let's up. May have to draft the semi's on the way up to save gas but we will be there.

Charlie, that car that I was talking about, one of my son's friend's .. It's a B20 in a hatch !!

I won't be able to get a spark plug until tomorrow morning, so I'll be up sometime in the afternoon. If the plug doesn't fix it, I'll have to chase down a wire.

I'm not missing out on the rain at all. It's been raining here since early yesterday. They just closed all the roads in the county south of us due to flooding and we had a tornado go by this morning. Dang weather....

I pulled the plug wires, and they both check out. I swapped them and put in a new plug, so we'll see what happens next. If the rear cylinder goes out this time, I'll know it was the wire. Hopefully it'll just turn out to have been the plug, though!

I have a Uly, a fiddy, and a camera loaded up in the truck, and I'm headed north in about an hour.

Had a great time seeing old friends/meeting new ones!! We got wet Thurs and Fri, but Sat we found some dry roads (in NC and TN). Sunday we did the loop twice (on mostly dry roads) before we had to leave.

If I am off for Buelltober Fest and the funds allow it, I'll be there!!

Had the day scheduled off at work as a post machbadness recovery day, I decided to keep the day off and go riding. Wife and I had a good time. A nice casual pace. First time two-up in the mountains. I followed Dave's route below. Made for a nice days ride. Of course it would have been better with more company. Were up for a ride this weekend.

Didn't realize you were still up there or I would have tried to hook up for a ride.

Saw a blue Uly going south on 60 as we were headed up. The map worked great, thought I'd get lost but followed the above map and it worked. I had printed a number of sub maps an made a map case by duck-tapeing a ziplock bag to the tank-er airbox. looks cheezy but it works.

That little stretch of road going to the bald mnt. observatory ( 180 spur ? ) is like a go cart track. I putted up and down it and it was still fun.

Did'nt know Helen was a err what-ever it is .. thought I was time warped to the alps for a second. Did'nt stop cuz it was a little to .. monochromatic, if you know what i mean. Wife and I had a bad .experience in blairsville a few years ago.

Anyone explore the little roads off alt-75 / 17, look interesting on the map.

March Badness VI was a blast even with the weather. It was good to see you guys and met some new folks. Next time we may need a bigger shed. Ditto Rdglider "Shed parties rock."

Eric, I thought I saw you headed north on 60 when I was heading home.

I can't wait till I can get back up there. When is the post Badness ride? I hope its not this coming weekend; it's already book up for me.

Anyone up for a Big Loop the weekend after next? I need another 3k miles on my bike before August when my prepaid maintenance plan runs out ... or better yet 8k. : )

Danny Eslick, riding his Buell 1125R for the Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Racing/RMR team, won two AMA Sportbike races at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California over the weekend.
