Sanchez - Dave and I are out too. My company decided to stick it to us this year on bonus day because they went way over budget on the construction. So we need to save every penny to finish paying off the wedding. Maybe we could get together that weekend and have our own lame MB.

Hey guys. Just got my WERA Provisional Novice license in the mail.
I need some help from any veterans.
Where do I get the Novi Shirt?
I need some advice on safety wire.
How did you get a wire on the pinch bolts? Brake caliper bolts and pad retaining bolt?
Do the rear pinch bolts need a wire?
On the rear brake, which bolts are the ones to wire?
What about exhaust hangers? Is that even relevant to us?
What can I get away with just JB welding
All the Buell bolts are flush... looks great on the street... giving me a headache for wiring.
If you could just send a close up pict or two...
What classes can I run?
Everything is stock except for exhaust and controls /rear sets, and windscreen is Zero Gravity
I want to try and make it ready by the Road Atlanta Race.

Anyone moved to the 8-pot calipers?

Just finished the swap from a Scg suspension to the regular S.
I am going to be testing my setup this weekend at Little Tally on Sunday. Anyone else going?

Also
I pulled my Scorpion SR-I500 alarm.
As cool as a race bike with an alarm could be... I needed to clean up a lot of electrical. (and help my tire fund)
It has all the options.Perimeter sensor, Ignition disable and anti-hijack kit, Back-up battery.
It is very easy to install. I have the quick clips for tool-less wire splicing.
I have an extra "Factory" wire harness... but it doesn't fit Buells, I believe it is for H-Ds like a sportster or something.
Had it for 2 years. Works great. The battery in the pager only lasts about a month with regular use. I used to swap out between two rechargeables. Also its a tight fit on an S, but it is possible
You guys get first crack at $120
I'll even help put it in.
pm for picts.

Thanks all,
I know this was a lot all at once.

Where do I get the Novi Shirt?- IF THERE IS A WERA NOVICE SCHOOL, ASK REAL NICELY AND THEY MAY GIVE YOU AN ORANGE RIDER'S SCHOOL SHIRT. OTHERWISE, THEY TOLD ME ANY COLOR T-SHIRT BUT RED OR BLACK.

BEST TO REMOVE THE BOLTS AND DRILL THEM ON A PRESS. DON'T FORGET TO US W-D 40 OR SOMETHING SIMILAR.

How did you get a wire on the pinch bolts?- FRONTS ARE EASY AS THEY STICK OUT. REMOVE AND USE THE DRILL PRESS.

Brake caliper bolts and pad retaining bolt?- YOU ONLY NEED TO DRILL THE ONES THAT MOUNT THE CALIPER TO THE FORK. USE A DREMEL TOOL TO GRIND THE HOLE IN THE FORK OUT A LITTLE BIT.

Do the rear pinch bolts need a wire?- YES. MARK THE BOLT WHERE IT LINES UP WITH THE SLOT IN THE SWING ARM. WHEN REMOVING THE BOLT, REMEMBER WHERE THE MARK WAS WHEN THE BOLT FINALLY CLEARED THE THREAD. AFTER DRILLING THE HOLE, TRY TO START THE BOLT BACK IN THE HOLE AT THIS SPOT.

On the rear brake, which bolts are the ones to wire?- THE ONES IN THE SWING ARM AND THE ONES THAT HOLD THE CALIPER TO THE BRACKET.

What about exhaust hangers? Is that even relevant to us?- I JUST SAFETY WIRED THE 2 ENDS OF EACH OF THE THREE STRAPS TOGETHER. I'LL TRY AND GET SOME PICS.

What can I get away with just JB welding- NOT SURE WHAT YOU WANT TO JB WELD, BUT A DAB OF HIGH TEMP SILICON ON THE GALLEY PLUG (BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR) AND THE BRAKE CALIPER BOLTS THAT HOLD THE CALIPER HALVES TOGETHER SHOULD SUFFICE.

All the Buell bolts are flush... looks great on the street... giving me a headache for wiring.- DREMEL TOOL. WALLER OUT THE HOLE JUST ENOUGH TO ALLOW SAFETY WIRE TO PASS BETWEEN THE HOLE AND THE BOLT.

If you could just send a close up pict or two... WORKING ON IT.

What classes can I run? LIGHTWEIGHT SOLO, LIGHTWEIGHT SUPERBIKE, HEAVYWEIGHT SUPERSTOCK AND C SUPERSTOCK.

Everything is stock except for exhaust and controls /rear sets, and windscreen is Zero Gravity- IF IT IS A DOUBLE BUBBLE, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RUN IN SUPERSTCK CLASSES. READ THE RULES, THEN EMAIL WEAR AND ASK.

I want to try and make it ready by the Road Atlanta Race.- I'LL BE AT ROAD ATLANTA IN JULY.

Anyone moved to the 8-pot calipers?- I USE THE STOCK CALIPER WITH BUELL RACE BRAKE PADS. WORKS RATHER WELL.

Thanks so much Pain Shaker.

I printed out the tech for and I am checking things off as I go.
Two more little questions.
I have an S back end, where do I put the
rear #s. Have you seen any other S models out there?

And,
Please tell me I don't have to drop my engine out to safety the header nuts....
I'm not even sure how to safety a nut.

Wolfridgerider on here ran an S tail on his race bike. PM him for info. I have heard there is a cowl made for it. You could also try an locate some TT plates. They bolt right onto the stock rear peg location.

No need to safety wire the header nuts, unless you want to.

Been busy since my last post, time flies.

Glad you can make it to MB6 Paint_shaker, my plans have shifted a bit but I'll be up for a day or so. I should be at Roebling and Road Atl. for sure. Doing just a few Nationals and a few sportsman.

Dave and Amy, Wish ya'll could make it up, we understand. It would be cool if maybe ya'll could make it up for a few hrs, won't be the same without ya.

Congrats Chris on your race endeavors. I'll be racing at Tally on Sunday. I'm driving over Thursday night to set up. My goal is to spend as much time at MB6, riding with the 3%er CREW...and race on Sunday. I might try to get a short practice in. Trying to work out the schedule out now.

Looks like you've already got started in the right direction with your bike. I'll PM you my cell #

BTW, I got a spare shirt you can wear. Orange or green? If you'd like maybe we can meet and I'll walk you through tech.

I knows....some peoples.....

Hey everyone, a couple friends and I are heading up to Chattanooga, from Atlanta, this weekend and are going to do the Suches loop on the way. But I am not sure of which roads are best to take from Two Wheels to Chattanooga.

Please check out my latest route and let me know what you think. I welcome all suggestions.

If anyone has a pocket bike, or two, there is a big, hidden from the road, parking lot behind my house that would be big fun on the little bikes.

Jeff, Your route to Chattanooga looks about as good as any other. One consideration may be to get on 575 south in Blue Ridge to Ellijay and take 52 across Fort Mountain to Chatsworth. Then over to I-75 in Dalton and head north to Chattanooga. Ride safe and have fun, Steve

Jeff, I like E_corners route, 575 to 52-Chatsworth. Lots of ways to go, depends on how long of a ride you want it to be. Have a good trip, ride safe.

Eric, Shelley, Nicholas and I will be there. We'll bring home made baked BBQ beans, little spicy but good.

We'll bring the fiddy and some race gas, lol!

Sanchez, Road A' ? I'm having a hard time making my mind up.

Riding_Tall- My wife and I are planning to come visit for a while tommorow and meet you and some of the other 3% crowd that I haven't met yet. Looking forward to it!

One question- We've got a puppy that we need to figure out what to do with while we're gone (can't stay in her crate for such a long time yet). Can she come along with us? She'll stay in her crate most of the time and she's so sweet she might even leave you a present in your yard!

For the record, though, I'm not afraid to clean up after her if that does happen. What do you think?

I think I'm gonna pass on this one. I just found the thread on the WERA board, and I hadn't realized it was a mixed advanced/intermediate group. Without ever having been on Road A before, I'd be a hazard. Major delta v between me and the advanced riders. I think I'll save Road A for a day when I can ride in a regular intermediate group.

In addition to the dog pen out back I also have a large dog carrier.

Just did a test run on the BBQ. Fired it up for the first time in a while. Eating some slightly overdone chicken right now.

Also, kid's of all age's are welcome. My boys are all grown but the house is mostly child ready and there are some toys and such here for when my 3 year old nephew's come over.

Bring the 50's

Sounds like the dogs will get along great. Our new addition is a german shepherd mix, almost 5 months old and she's more than willing to run with the big dogs. She does well in her crate (we will bring it) so she should be no trouble.

Thanks! See y'all tomorrow evening!
