This board used to be a refuge from the BS and pissing contests which consume most other boards. Chill the F*ck Out and enjoy the ride... In the end, nuthin else matters anyway.

Our engines start out at about 83 rwHP and we can build a pumped up XB9 to about 125 rwHP.

What a crock.

In 2002, the '03 XB9R kept pace with a Suzuki 1300 Hayabusa, 1000 GSXR and cleaned the clock of a Suzuki 750 GSXR. Considering I was riding 2-up, this is very impressive over the Jap Bikes & a true testament to the Firebolt's potential when riding 1 up! USA Torque is more important than Jap-HP!

Where the hell was this supposedly? And obviously he hasnt seen the torque chart for a Busa.

420, your speedo might have read 142 mph but as others have pointed out bikes are notoriously optomistic when it comes to speedo's. Hell stock Busas will claim 200 yet actual speed is in the 180's. The XB9 is rev & gearing limited to about 132 mph. The XB12 will run 135mph.

As was pointed out earlier it takes a huge jump to get from 135 to 160. A lot more than a supposed magic 6 speed tranny is going to give you.

I just posted a challenge to Corey if he wants to prove the validity of his claims.

Corey, its nothing personal you may very well be a greqat guy to hang with. Its obvious you are passionate about bikes, its just that I doubt a lot of the rather dubious claims you are making. Nobody else & I mean nobody is seeing all these wild numbers & new magical parts that you are supposedly seeing. The Buell community tends to be pretty tight knit & I am sure that someone else would have known about a 6 speed tranny or the increase in power your intake setup supposedly gives.

In regards to that intake setup, I asked before about your claims but didnt see a sreal claer answer. We all know the 12 cover on a 9 will give an increase of 3-4 hp. Are you claiming that your setup will be on top of that? Are you claiming yours will increase the power of a 12 over a stock setup? You wanna prove it & shut me up, send me one & I promise to get it dyno tested at a local shop & will post the results on all the Buell boards. I am not affiliated with any HD shops in any shape or form & have nothing to gain by your product either performing well or totally sucking.

I have access to both a stock 9 as well as a 12. Are you up to the challenge?

I can fly

Cool!! Have any independant tests that can back that up?: D

Hell it must true that Court can fly, after all I did read it on the web.

Gotta love the net, everyone is so damn good looking, rich & has the fastest & bestest of everything. Then you meet the folks in person & realize it was all a lie & that they live in a 10'x50' trailer watching pirated cable while swilling Pabst Blue Ribbon & think spray cheese in a can is a gourmet meal.

Having done top speed testing (yes, as in being paid at the time) I assure you that a host of the claims above (I'm not singling out an individual one) are simply impossible.

The Buell speedo, and many others, are fairly optimistic. There's an excellent reason for this on the tube frame Buells which I can tell you about in about another year.

During a stint with the British Magazine staff of BIKE, I had the chance to do some "ex parte" top speed runs on the Nevada / Utah border. They were preparing to do their wheelie/stoppie/burn-out pics while I was their host at the secret Euro-Press pre-intro of the 1999 Buells. Knowing I couldn't stand to see what they were going to do to their X1, I sat out and found, in the middle of the desert, about a 9 mile, with a slight downhill grade, stretch of road.

I pinned the S3 for an eternity and using my dash mounted stopwatch, came to some empirical conclusions about speedos and speed.

No stock Hayabuse will do 200. In fact, a Hayabusa takes, as was demonstrated at Bonneville a couple years ago, a good deal of work (yes, it can be done) to reach 200.

The Hayabusa (I'll be on a heavily hot rodded one this afternoon) is an incredible bike.

The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy has this to say about flying...

The trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss. It helps to get distracted at the last moment.

Don't Panic

Hmm, I didnt see any nology wires on that list.: D Wonder why he doesnt use what he sells?

BTW, what possible gains could be made by cleaning out a stock pipe & running the race muffler? Why not just throw a 12 pipe on it.

Corey claims that at the 2002 BRAG Gap Run, only 2 out of 7 XB9R Firebolts were left standing (see the quote in my earlier post). He states that he was one of the two and claims that it was because of his vast knowledge of XB9R suspension settings.

Can anyone who was there verify any of this?

Mike.

I was there & dont recall anyone named Corey. Shazam was there & his bolt was still running, Darthane had a little mishap with his.

There were quite a few bolts that got wiped out, but the ones that survived were more luck or simply owners who dialed it back a bit.

BTW, Corey is reading all of this, he just wont post here.

Ditto - I don't remember anyone named Corey there and I personally spoke to every 'bolt owner there except the one who hit the sgn in the same corner I went down in (anyone have any idea how he's doing?)

Now, let's see...mine was still functional coming out of there, ditto Shazam's, Fasteddieb's, Harleybritt's - that's four right there, Corey would be 5, so once again he's full of #$%@ and/or failed Kindergarten math. Wouldn't surprise me.

I'm assuming it was directed at me and I've no problem with Blake telling me not to piss in his sandbox. Nor with 'fixing' the posts.

-=shrugs=- I fixed the two instances of my own 'potty mouth' and will likely remember the admonition for roughly three days, after which sooner or later I'll do it again. ; )

But If I was on a 'busa, I can guranteee that a blast, and even a royal enfield in the right hands or even moderate hands could school me.
I am just a mellow happy rider on the street.

LOL...another message board I post on simply takes all vulgar language and replaces it with "; [naughty]". It works really well - so well, in fact, that it can actually be a pain as it has replaced sections of not-naughty words with it and rendering the sentence nigh-unreadable on occasion.

Blake's pretty tolerant as moderators go. I'm sure we're more than capable, as a group, of overloading that tolerance though...say, has anyone seen the Flame Away thread recently?
