Searched the web a bit and couldnt find much info...

Whats required to remove the grater (I guess on my bike its a fender, no grater but...) on a 2009 XB12Ss?

I eventually plan to get expensive cat eye LED's up front and an integrated XBLights setup in the rear but for now I think I might just do the simple hack it off and use the existing lights setup... But it needs to be easily modified to work with the integrated setup without external signals and possibly with the plate mounted in a different position.

Any tutorials?

What does your kit give the user Keith that a full DIY wont? Reason I ask is that seems like a nice setup and I may go that route but I need a setup that could work with stock signals and then easily be converted to work w/o signals (integrated setup) if I chose to do it like that, in two steps.

Also I was thinking about mounting the plate flat on the lower section like some do (until the police bug me to move it) to really give it a clean tail.

So, you have seen a bike with a grater, and a couple pictures of bikes without... then, I think it is pretty obvious where to cut.

Have you walked outside and looked at the damn thing?

IF you don't see it (in other words, it isn't obvious), maybe you shouldn't be working on a bike?

No I havent taken a close look at it yet and if you dont see how to properly act towards other people, maybe you shouldnt be talking on this forum?

Perhaps Im overanalyzing it, you could simply tell me that instead of attacking me on other threads and refering to me in threads Im not even part of.

Good day.

Jrice.
I am trying to help you kid.

try searching first because people are going to get sick of watching you ask the same question in 4 different threads... when you could have HELPED YOURSELF, AND JUST LOOKED IT UP.

you are what we often refer to as a "post hoar."
you have been here for about a minute, and posted around 180 posts in a week, BEFORE you ever owned a buell, all asking the same sh!t.

time for you to put on the big boy pants, and stop acting like a tool.

good day to you, son.

Please do not refer to me as kid or son for I am neither of those to you. And if you are going to attack me, twice, please use my actual user name (you refered to me as Jrice is two threads so far).

Oh and buy a dictionary while we are at it, not really sure what hoar refers to. Now if you had called me a post wh0re then maybe I would understand.

Geez if I bother you so much then how about you take a sip of your own medicine, put on the big boy pants and stop reading and participating in my threads! Your just enabling me.

And I do not believe I ask the same questions in mulitple threads, I have stated some mods that I have on the way in several threads but do not intentionally post questions with repetition.

Im a post wh0re, get over it and stop reading my threads if it really bothers you that much.

Good day

Yes Jrice, I used hoar because it rhymes with soar or boar. I figured it would make my point, and it obviously did. Last time I checked, wh0re wasn't in any dictionaries that I have seen. I can't post the actual word. it gets censored son (I will stop calling you kid, and son when you stop acting like a child).

Here are a few threads you have STARTED asking pretty much the exact, same questions, or questions that could have EASILY been answered by spending 5 minutes and searching (this is an example, and not all of your posts. I really have better things to do then sift through your posts, but I want to help you learn how obnoxious you are being... so let's have an educational lesson):

For the OP -- as someone who is looking to swap his R tail for an S tail at some point, this is an issue I have been wondering about myself and I appreciate you asking the question. I used the search function and did find some threads that gave the impression that this is do-able and some bits on the "how" part, I didn't find anything that really showed a beginning to end. Being a measure three or four times and cut once type when it comes to my bike.

As far as some opinionated posters on this and other threads, it's a board for people to ask questions regarding all things Buell right? If someone is abusing that privilege then I am SURE that a MODERATOR will kindly step in and point out the issue and maybe make a suggestion or two on ways to deal with the issue.

As far as educating someone I don't see any posts by Jraice requesting that service so until he does, maybe wait on that. If you don't like it, don't read it and let the rest of us make that decision for ourselves...I don't need a crossing guard for Badweb to tell me when and where to read, or when and on what to post, the board admins will do fine for that.

Mr. Raice,
I'm new to badweb, but not to the etiquette of internet forums. I've seen a few of your topics, and generally stay clear of them because I kinda feel the same way biff does, although not enough to hunt down all your threads, and post the as a list for pubic viewing. (that should have been done via Private Message biff)

I've had quite a difficult time learning the search techniques required to navigate the information on this site, and think I understand why you start new posts to gather information. I've sent a few PM's to people asking for more details than they included in their posts, and gotten great responses. Sometimes they've just forgotten to mention something, or it seemed (to them) to frivolous a detail to mention.

I hope you checked out my winter projects one of them was chopping the tail. If this link doesn't take you to the "archive through Jan 3rd" go to that page. And if you have any questions feel free to send me a message. It's probably not the look you're going for. But the tools/technique will be the same.

Thanks H2owerker... Good guys? I am working Saturday but wouldnt mind a little bike outing sunday, tell me more.

And Biff you say you dont have time to read my posts yet you do a search of all my posts and make a pretty elaborate message here. Then you go and blatanly, three times in a row after two requests call me by Jrice, not my name. And yes I am aware proper spelling of a word will not be posted but I think wh0re reflects a proper understanding of the correct spelling then hoar.

I apologize guys, I promise I will try harder to be a contributing factor to this forum and not an annoyance, Ill take this as a wake up call and constructive critism from most of you, from Biff, I will take this only as an example of maturity being based on much much more then age alone. How old are you anyways? I may be 17 but I am very often mistaken for well over my age due to my (as I am told, not to be concieted) maturity, and thats in person, not online where judging character or meaning is quite difficult.

Go ahead send another long message, prove my point. Call me Jrice and not Jraice, call me son. You will just further be reinforcing my point.

Please stick to PM's next time you want to attack people but dont take this as an invitation to send me one... Post it here, I like having the evidence be public.

someone had to stand up and say it. sorry if it wasn't in a pleasing matter (or a politically correct, soft blow, sugar coated, make you feel good about yourself manner), but at least the point was made. This is badweb.

Buell guys are rough around the edges, and a bunch of bike geeks. Nobody ever said we were a bunch of nice guys.

you say you understand. we shall see.

Appreciate the reality check Biff and I will try and be less of an annoyance honestly. I just feel you could've still been the "big bad buell man" or the tough guy, but in a politer way. Even if you had said what you said in a PM things could be different but constantly and blatanly spelling my name wrong, calling me kid or son and refering to my age are not the right ways to do it. Thats over the line.

Other than that, Biff, your a meanie, Jraice, your a punk kid......YAY, now i'm in the fight.

I've got to put this out there too "Jrice," your a kid/son.....so am I, I'm 21 and a lot of these guys on here are at least double my age.

But look at it this way, if your a kid to them, at least you have your youth and can still probably take a wreck or two, unlike some of these guys that if they get in a wreck they'll need a new hip or one of those little button things to push to have the ambulance come pick them up cause they have "Fallen and can get up" (no offense to you 'over the hill' guys out there, trying to show him even though we can be dick's, don't take it too personal.)

Haha I have told myself Ill never be on a cruiser! I used to say I'd be on a Race Replica until well past middle age but man is this Buell comfortable! I think Ill be riding standards until I can no longer remember to put the kickstand up : p.

Which brings up a question, why hasnt HD/Buell clicked that this is a serious life threatening thing... Leaving the kickstand down. I read just last year of a HD rider passing away from forgeting, and just this weekend I was at the dealer and saved a rider from heading onto the freeway with his down by shouting.

Seems like every other bike out there has a cut-off switch so the engine wont run in gear with the stand...

I've left mine down a couple of times, but when i go into a left turn, it would just pop it up for me. All i would hear is the clank of it slapping up and the rattle of it hitting up hard.

Perhaps you got lucky... Or perhaps its because harleys have a locking mechanism on theres so if weight is applied it will not fold back.

Its clearly (your evidence) not a definite crash maker, but I have read of atleast one death from a kick stand so it still makes me wonder why they cant put a simple safety device on the bike.
