I sold my Firebolt this morning and I am looking to go pick up an 1125R. I'm looking for one with around 5k miles for $6000 or less. What should I look for when buying one? I know the basic recalls. clutch weep, stator issue Here are the links for the 3 I am interested in. This one about half the miles are track miles. The price is pretty cheap for the amount of aftermarket parts that are on it. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/mcy/2876413397.ht ml This one is well kept but I am not sure about getting another red bike. http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/mcy/2830079094.ht ml This one has some nice aftermarket parts also and the guy said he would meet me halfway, which would still be an 8 hr drive. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trks id=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=120874626562&sspagename= STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT Let me know what you guys think. |

The main reason I am wanting to go up there is to go tour the new stadium. I am out of place Cowboy's fan down here in South Louisiana! |

I am leaning towards the bike from the guy in Middletown, OH. Anyone in that area interested in going take a look at it for a small fee? |

PA is a little too far away and I would be over my budget by the time I paid to have it shipped. Thanks for the info though. |

The black one in Dallas belongs to a badweb member, but I do not remember who it is. He was on badweb offering it up for sale not too long ago. I think it was listed in the 1125 section, but not the classifieds. I could not find it on badweb just now. I don't recognize the red one. I've seen the adds on Craigslist. I live in Arlington, right between Dallas and Fort Worth. The one in Ohio has the clutch weep. You can see it in the pictures. It is very easy to fix, but you should still be aware of it. I fixed my '08 1125R clutch weep myself. Looking at the pictures, the clutch cover may be permanently stained, but it won't affect performance. PM me if you need someone to look at one. |

The owner is Crustyxpunk(Matt Reynolds) but most of the track use came from the original builder/owner Jdugger(Jim Dugger). http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/ 647737.html?1314311034 |

$5400 is a good price on that bike in the Dallas area if he's including all the parts and spares. That's my old B bike... |

I've exchanged a few emails with him(Matt) already. I was planning to make the trip up to the Dallas area next Wednesday but work called today and I might not be able to do so. |

I'm seriously thinking about heading up there tomorrow night, pulling an all-nighter and heading back here on Thursday. Then I have to drive to Destin, Florida Thursday afternoon/evening for a wedding. We have No Problem Raceway here in Belle Rose, Louisiana. http://www.noproblemraceway.com/ |

Terry Reading your profile I had to chuckle. You had 1125R mirrors on your Firebolt. I hated mine and put Firebolt mirrors on my 1125R. Hang on to your new 1125R when you get it. It has a bigger fairing so you can slice thru clouds of love-bugs, mosquitos and cicadas without getting much bug-goo on yourself. About a million years ago, I worked out of Morgan City, Belle Chase, Galveston and Brownsville for Zapata Drilling. Stay safe. Zack |

Yea the 1125R mirrors are pretty much useless on the Firebolt. I just used them for the LED turn signals. I don't plan on getting rid of the 1125R. That is until EBR comes out with a new affordable street bike. Zapata...That name brings back memories from when I was an electricians helper in high school, working at the Zapata fish processing plant. I would get home smelling like a can of rotten sardines! |

I'm pretty much committed to Matt's bike. I'm probably driving up to the Dallas area tomorrow. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/mcy/2876413397.ht ml Although I did locate a couple more bikes in the Austin area both are asking $6000. I talked to this guy, bike now has 4400 miles. http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/2856718820.html This one is real low miles. http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/2852084057.html (Message edited by TerryS1980 on March 13, 2012) |

Terry, looking at that second one, I would never buy it in that condition. "Spike windshield bolts", aka Body stabbers. License plate is in an illegal spot too (in front of rear axle and not easy to see). I do like that all stock on in the first though |

Matt's bike has higher miles, but I know the mechanical and care condition. It was ridden hard, much loved, and mechanically well cared for... Plus, the EBR top triple and clip-ons are damn near mandatory for track duty, IMHO. The OEM stuff promotes one's head prairie-dogging down the track... An extra set of wheels sure makes doing track days practical... I sold the bike to him with a set of slicks on one of those wheel sets, too.... wonder if he still has them? |

Juniorkirk - You might want to take another look at the picture of my bike on my profile. I had the spikes and my license plate in what would be an illegal spot in most states. Jim as soon as Matt gets the title in his hand I will head up there. He just did the title transfer last week and is waiting for the DMV to mail it to him. Both sets of rims have Michelin's on them. One being Pilot Powers 2 and the other a lower model tire. |

Today I placed a down payment for the low mileage bike with the lower fairing from New Castle Harley. The down side is a cannot pick it up until after I return from Belgium for a work trip. It was nice to hear that many of the employees still ride Buells. They do seem like a great shop. This should be quite a change from my 08XT. By the way, what is a noid? |

To the best of my knowledge, the "noid" is a noise emission gadget put in place to "choke" the intake for the sound test for the bike to get approved DOT. If you are in the middle of the rpm range in third gear and whack the throttle, as in passing a car, it gets to a certain rpm and closes the throttle plates, almost like you hit a brick wall. Easy to bypass if you feel it needs to be done. You can get the resistor plug for it from Al at American Sport Bike. If you have the race ECM, the noid isn't active. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |

17 hours and 950 miles later I came home with this 2009 1125CR. I picked it up for $5900 with 4400 miles.
