The D&D is not going to scrape unless you push to extreme lean angles. If you are mainly a street rider, I wouldn't be concerned about it. In my opinion, it has the most wicked sound of all the pipes I've heard. Yeah, we all know it's loud, but I've got lots of compliments on how it sounds. | ||

the rt-3 makes power,looks awesome and doesnt get into the lean angle. Unless you want pure volume(d&d) I think the rt-3 is the best choice | ||

Yes I will 2nd the D&D exhaust. It has a very distinct sound that will get you looks from everyone!!!! Most will say that it is too loud and I kinda agree, but wow it is just wicked. RT-3!! all the way! if i had the money be a no brainer! the d&d is more of a drag pipe IMHO, i dont even want an exhaust that even looks like itll scrape, and if you do go down on that side the d&d will be toast and there goes your money...its junk in my opinion lol and without a SERIOUS tune you'll probably LOSE power...and well its REALLY loud lol the jardine is alright, but kind of a one size fits all can on a different mid pipe, i've heard that it goes through packing the fastest too, and that it is a little higher pitch (cheap sounding) than most... i LOVE the rt-3, it does everything right, makes power, looks great, and will NOT drag...plus it is HAND MADE and made for YOUR bike...its all up to you though... i dont have PERSONAL experience with these, but based on everything ive heard on here and in real life, i'd get the rt-3 no questions asked! dean rocks!! If youve got the cash, the rt3 is the way to go. It's easily one of the best looking pipes and it makes good power. Supposedly it's really loud so keep that in mind. If money is a concern, get a Barker. They're cheap, make great power and have quiet core inserts available (but it's stil loud). It's not nearly as pretty as the rt3 though. I have a Barker with the quiet core but would like an rt3 since it just looks so nice. Forget the d&d--pricy and way too loud, and the Barker is superior and cheaper than the Jardine and HMF. Sorry but only an ass would run the D&D. We, as bikers already are viewed as a menace by cagers. Running a super loud exhaust just pisses off everyone else. Keeping cagers from being pissed off if always a good thing. The life you save may be mine. Go with the Keda. Also, D&Ds just crap. They aren't actually designed, they just build something to fit and put it on sale. I'm really not sure why those guys are still in business. (Message edited by RatsMC on December 17, 2010) | ||

} We, as bikers already are viewed as a menace by cagers. Running a super loud exhaust just pisses off everyone else. I've never ridden for anyone else and couldn't care less what other people thought I should have on my bike. I like it loud. Loud pipes saves lives, so they say. When you don't do more than just city riding I can understand. But I've had way too many incidents where cracking a loud throttle kept someone from pulling out in front of me and its also good at scaring deer out of my path. IMHO......... | ||

Just installed the rt3 2 days ago. Amazing pipe. Big increase in power and looks sexy. Go with the polished option. And with the ebr ecm the bike feels 100xs better than before. | ||

I must be getting old, I like a quiet bike at times. I'm leaving the Uly's exhaust stock. It's my stealth bike, at least until I turn on all 4 headlights. The 1125 is a noisy motor up top. DOn't even consider the D&D. It's just a noisemaker that doesn't even help HP. Why anyone would run an ungodly loud exhaust that isn't engineered to increase HP is WAY beyond me. And it looks horrible to top it all off. D&D was one of the first pipes on the scene and I guarantee minimal thought and engineering was given to it. I put the Jardine and FMF pipes in this category as well. Big companies just taking a pipe from a different application and adapting it to bolt on the 1125. Now the ONLY two pipes worth considering are the Barkers and Keda. It's really a tossup between them performance wise. The way I see it is you have a more attractive pipe in the Keda, but it is more pricey. And I am not sure how backlogged Dean is with the Keda, so that may be a consideration as well. | ||

I've got lots of compliments on how it sounds. Scene: Local gas station. Bike outfitted with a D&D pipe has pulled in and finished gassing up. Bike is running as the rider prepares to don his helmet. Joe Public: "Your exhaust is way too loud!" D&D owner: "What?!" Joe Public: "Your exhaust is way too loud!!!!" D&D owner: "WHAT!?!?!?!?" Joe public: "YOUR EXHAUST IS WAY TOO LOUD!!!" D&D owner: "OH. THANKS! JUST GOT THE PIPE ON A FEW DAYS AGO! GLAD YOU LIKE IT!" D&D owner at the Starbucks with his crew: "Man i was at the gas station and this dude came up to me and was all complimenting how the D&D sounds." Ok so this was stupid exaggerated attempt at humor, but I will say for D&D owners--for every 1 person who says they like the sound of the pipe there are 99 who think you are a completely rude douchebag. The ratio could even be 1:999 easily. Or higher. People can deal with loud. People won't deal with "you are hurting my ears as well as my kid's ears with your pipe." That's when laws get changed or added to screw us. You are infringing on the rights of others to NOT be subjected to excessive noise which you deem to be "Cool." C'mon. Grow up. get responsible. Don't destroy motorcycling. | ||

I was even asked AT THE DRAGSTRIP to put a baffle in when I was foolishly running a D&D. Actually seems to work as an amplifier! Power sucks, and it's not just loud-it is earshattering. Should be sold at Harley dealers- chrome,obnoxiously loud,expensive and weak. Scratch D&D off your list! | ||

C = Complete? Yeah, I know, you want the full header setup. I'm still thinking about it. Call me a tease, w/e. Let me try some stuff on your XB first, then we'll see. Btw, for anyone wondering, the backlog is finally down to a manageable level. I'm going to try and keep it that way. Sometimes you'll notice the ability to order a pipe may be turned off. If that's the case, I'm too far behind and need to catch up. This year, the wait got to as much as 10-11 weeks. I won't be going there again, I hate being that far behind. If it's more than a 6-8 week wait, I disable the ordering on the website. | ||

It is exactly thinking like that that just got aftermarket exhausts banned in California. Other states will be following shortly. That's not even getting into the very real issue of cagers intentionally taking out riders because we annoy them. That;s the problem with this country: everyone believes they should be allowed to do whatever they want. •••• everyone else. | ||

Mine are all clearly marked as Race Use Only. I guess if you really wanted to get carried away it can be removed. It's pretty obvious where most will end up, but I still have to mark them that way. | ||

I know it isn't on your list, but if it is because of cost, I have a TM Torque Hammer for sale for $499. It is in perfect shape. I'm going with the Buell full race system for the track and stock for the street. | ||

d&d and the jardine pipe should not even be considered both are just plain junk in comparison to the KEDA. I havent heard anyone mention to the Drummer but that is a great pipe too! Those would be the only two pipes that I would pay to put on my bike. check out American sport bikes website Al has an exhaust shootout where he compares alot of the pipes with Dyno runs. The Keda was one of the best power makers and all around pipe along with the Barker and Drummer. IMO the drummer is the best pipe out there but that guy priced is pipes out of most peoples wallets almost 1k •••• that!! Not to mention that no matter what pipe you put on your bike you should get an ECM from Erik Buell Racing, ALL pipes out there right now make dangerous lean spots regardless of what the manufacturer says. | ||

I have the RT 2 (which I love) but if I had the dough, I would have purchased the RT 4. That exhaust is the Van Gogh of exhausts! |
