Well since i'm finally getting some riding in. I got to say, these mirror's suck!..

WTF? The left one isn't bad but i still have to lean pretty good to see around my elbow. The right one just BLOWS. It won't adjust up at all. I am looking down at the road pretty much(although works ok when stopped to see the car's driver when im sitting up)..IDK what i'm going to do about them yet.
I like the blinkers were they are and not really wanting to put them in the running light area. Doesn't seem like they would be seen. Anyone with a video or the blinkers in the running light area?

Another thing is the fuel drip, but i have read about that and not going to get into it!!!

I also need to get lower pegs, but i'm not complaining about that!

So, looks like i may have to go with a double bubble and maybe the backup camera, but who knows. I went without mirror's on my XB for 2 years, i may just do it again!

I love the mirrors. I also love how the blinkers will light up an intersection. They are so bright.

I put uly pegs on mine. Best mod to date. They make the bike feel huge. I have so much more room.

I find that the stock mirrors on my CR are great, the stock ones on my R are perfect. I plan on throwing a set on the XB and Blast. I'm sorry to hear you aren't enjoying them.

Push harder on the mirrors. They're stiff, but move.

If you feel like you're about to break it, that's probably when it will start moving.

There are also some people who have run silicone or RTV around the edge of the mirrors to help damp vibrations.

I agree with the running light blinkers not being seen - probably OK in some places, I wouldn't do it out here, I don't think I can be bright enough in Albuquerque. The blinkers are wonderful for getting attention.

... uly pegs? I may have to look into this...

I have pushed pretty hard. Enough to hear it crack, and nothing!

If they do move, i will do the RTV. I have already thought about that. I actually thought about taking them completely out and just glue them back in the housing where i want them.

Froggy, if i was 130# soaking wet like you, i may not have a problem seeing around me!!

I have also thought about Uly pegs, but i don't want the wide bottom. I have seen a few sets i'm looking into!

If you have some dri-slide cable lube, with the 4" needle applicator, use it on the mirror pivot. It's a ball joint dead-center inside the housing. Drop a drip of lube on it, and she'll free right up. If you don't have dri-slide, a can of WD-40 with the red straw will also work.

If you're at the limit of adjustment, loosen the bolts that hold the lever perch to the handlebar and rotate it as needed. I usually do both at once, to make sure my levers are even.

I also love the mirrors - and put a set on my Ulysses when I added my driving lights.

I didn't like my mirrors either. I couldn't get them to go just a little more outward. Turned them on the handlebars, did all I could do then finally I took them off. Glad I did,I've taken off the passenger pegs and now the mirrors. They have one thing in common - weight. Both are super heavy, I must have lost 5 lbs by taking them off. The weight issue is all the justification I needed to remove them. I replaced them with 4" CRG bar end mirrors and installed trick Rizoma LED turn indicators on either side of the headlight. Easy install because all the connectors are inches away underneath the flyscreen. See my carbon fiber instrument cowl cover? It looks awesome in person. Note the Rizoma rightside turn indicator.

I have Rizomas and CRG Bar ends too on my R. The barends are very stable. I think it looks much better but having to look down to check the mirrors is a pain in the nuts.

If you want to get rid of your CR mirrors, let me know. I'm getting ready to pull the clipon bars off my S1W and go back to stock, and I think I'll pull the bar-ends as well....be happy to lighten your shelf by a couple pounds for ya ; )

That CF dash is sweet. Source?

Hi jonnys999, I love the carbon fiber instrument cowl cover. Did you make this or purchase from a dealer?

Thanks for the info.

I am getting the Cali can for my gas drip when I bring in the R for the recall harness work. Part showed up yesterday. Talked to the service manager and he said he'd do it.

Ordered Uly pegs too. Looking forward to seeing how well they do.

Also plan to get a set of those small convex round mirrors with the adhesive to stick on the end of my mirrors for extra vision. I agree, don't like those much. Have to struggle to get a good view of what's going on.

Ok, little update. Since it was 65 and sunny today and i rode to work, the bike sat in the sun for a bit. When i got home i let it sit about another hour in the sun. Went out to see if i could get it to move. Looks like that did the trick! I got the right one to move up after A LOT of force.

Now if they would just quit vibrating!!!

I couldn't get my mirrors to work as mirrors.
They were great turn signals tho...

I finally sold them and installed late model(long stem) Firebolt mirrors.
Best mirrors I've ever had on a bike.
I ran the turn signals to the running lights.

... so your turn signals are essentially invisible to anyone in front of you.

The camera isn't as good at differentiating the two as your eyes are.
I have seen them in reflections and walked 50-60 feet away while she's idling and the signals are very noticeable.

Not blinding like the XBLights rear signal, but quite visible none the less.

Works for me.

Zac, i am still thinking about this option, if nothing else but to try it out. Are those HID's on your bike? I got DDM 6k on the way and not sure if the extra light will make the signal's invisible.

Ian -
Yah, lo-beams are HID 6800 *K, unbelievable difference in light output.
The signals are the OEM bulbs, I think them being yellow and the lo-beams bluish helps them stand out more too.

I'm happy with the arrangement.

Keep pushing on the mirrors working them back and forth. I'v had my CR sitting here for 5 months and finally pushed hard enough to get them to move. Then worked them around a little to get them loosened up.

Regarding the vibrating mirrors, has anyone considered mounting some weights inside the mirrors' housings? I was thinking that some lead weights with adhesive on the bottom would probably stick inside the mirrors' housings and hopefully help dampen some of the vibration, just like having bar-end weights makes clipons vibrate less.

Zac, nice work finding a set of mirrors that work better. I'd do that too, but I'm not willing to give up the signals in the stock mirrors.
