hahaha...the company i work for invented that pipe!(long ago) they look formed to me.... The company i work for makes oem exhaust (mainly gm here)and aftermarket/oem exhaust for imports. We are the 2nd largest in the world. we actually make that exact tip in europe already btw (i did some research, old mercedes turndowns), i will see if they are still available |

Anthony: If you are going to make something and sell it you usually like to make something for your time and material. At $85, he probably has a little profit built into also. SHeesh, business & Econ 101. Later, time to play EH&S Mgr. (No I don't make my company any money but.... the cost avoidance is huge if I do my job correctly!) |

1. Buy a u-bend with the a close inside diameter as the outside diameter to the stock tips. 2. Cut in half, Deburr 3. Paint/Polish/etc 4. Slip on. throw in a retaining screw if needed Stainless u-bends are around $20, Aluminized $16 (both mandrel bent) That was Easy |

Ccryder, I am not arguing that there should be no profit. I was just stating that $85 is more than "I" am willing to pay for this setup so I MAY attempt to make something myself. Blackflash, I have seen more than just YOUR design for this. There are plenty of guys out there with similar solutions. I am SURE you will sell out your supply. This is a desired item and kudos to you for being first to market with it. BTW, are you a sponsor here? ac (Message edited by avc8130 on November 23, 2009) |

nice...did i call you names? shows real class...I BOUGHT a set already...? I was just saying that it was a CHEAP item to make in qty...you are they guy crapping out "cnc bends aren't cheap" and tuffy bends.... c'mon, those are REALLY cheap(yea they actually are, how do you thing they make bent pipes in a REAL factory? ever see a trd exhaust? or a solstice exhaust? we make them) I WORK DOING THIS STUFF FOR A LIVING... I said i would ASK, not that I would MAKE. Idea theif my ass...btw I actually designed a set of these the day after i got the bike(and yes, they are different looking). I also invested some time in looking for a used stock exhaust to re-engineer(have not had time to get it) and you call me names...you don't know me and yet you call me names. cool guy you are blackflash.... cool guy (Message edited by nickg on November 23, 2009) |

I love badweb. Dysfunctional doesn't even begin to describe this place. If someone can make it cheaper, let them. If you don't like the product or how they produce them, don't buy them. Simple? |

Let's get to the really important question, though. Can you get me a deal on a TRD exhaust? On a serious note, the turn-outs look good, and were I so inclined they'd be a good solution to all the crap getting on the rear wheel. The expense is negligible, really, given how much time it would take to produce my own. |

that's a lot for a non-stainless steel exhaust tip. I think i'd rather buy one 90 degree down pipe from this site and slash cut it at the bend to make two tips. They want a ridiculous $18.50 to ship it, so i'm still looking around. Getting the angle right where it meets the muffler is the hardest part. At least it would be stainless. http://himni-racing.com/index.php?main_page=produc t_info&products_id=996 |

Because this thread isn't about tail tidies. If you would like to tear into them start a new thread. Jardine already came out with a $68 tail tidy "copying" the $100+ concepts BTW. ac |

The OD on the stock pipe measures 1.625" so find a pipe with the same ID. Something along the line of 1.75" 14 guage SS tubing would get you pretty close. Little bit of hand grinding, polishing, drill/tap holes in the back, maybe tack a nut on there instead? (Message edited by d_adams on November 23, 2009) |

"Motorcycles, like women, should be about how the perform, not how they look." Some think that motorcycles, like women, should be about the noise that they make when you ride them. |

Let's not be negative to the people who are actually producing commercial products for what is a very limited production run of bikes. I'm cool with reviews of products. I think it's great when people post how-to articles and photos of their own work on their bikes. But let's give the people who are making accessories for our bikes a break. Just my $.02 |
