I want this exhaust and got a quote today from italy its is 1182.55 USD ohh well guess I will have to wait until some american manufacture can make one. Contacted HMF to see if maybe they would be interested because I know they have done other custom type work and they said nope, get the 2 into 1 but they dont get, buell is about the only v twin sportbike running a 2 into 1, I like the thumper sound. Dont care if the 2 into 1 makes more power, if I wanted more power I would be a busa or zx14

I'm sure glad I have to ride to work at 5am, so louder would not work. My wife would sh!t a brick if i paid $1,000+ for 2 feet of pipe.

Moosestang, it's about 5 feet total (2 pipes) so it's not that bad. I do like the way they look, kinda purdy in a way.

The Free Spirits "full" system is a piece of artwork.
I asked about the price (to the US) and the torque curve this afternoon.
Hope to get an answer soon.

holy crap
a) its great looking, best out there in my opinion
b) no way im speding 1200 bucks on a slip-on, holy hell thats a lot of money.

we need an american manufacturer to make something similar for half the cost (at most)

Good luck, Kevin Drum's slip-on is near 1100 bucks.
I love mine, but got it 2nd hand for half price on a long-term payoff.

that is ridiculous (slip ons being over a grand)

but youre probably right, these guys have you by the balls, not much competition so they can do what they want and you either
a) eat it
b) dont get it.

I'm with you guys this kinda of money for these slip-ons is stupid. You can buy a whole ti system for a jap bike for this. I would like a drummer or tq hammer guess I will have to wait and see.

Show me a full Ti system for $1,100. A nice full Akrapovic will set you back $1,600 on the low end, up to $3,200+ on the high end.

If you want a cheap slip on look on Ebay and get an Alu Jardine shipped to your door for $398.00.

You get what you pay for.

How can ANYONE justify 1100.00+ for exhaust. i understand there is some actual research behind these, but the tuning is more important than the actually piping and muffler...especially with a SD fuel injection setup.

Now if they are tuning the exhaust around the stock ECM maximizing its potential, then i can see how there is countless hours of research invested, but IMO thats a backwards way of doing things....

IMO the price is higher due to the limited production of these bikes, thus limited buyer potential and the need to cover research costs and then of course profit...

With an average of $1000.00 for fairly good systems it looks like the cost is not worth the few extra H.P. you might get.

If you want just a louder pipe get an inexpensive one.

If you want performance you just might not do any better then the stocker and a tuning device. Some are quite proven performance enhancers.

It seems if you want both its going to really cost you quite a bit. Again the cost is up to just what you want and can afford.

The racers who more of less need all they can get in terms of performance have spent quite a bit on exhaust and quite a bit of time tuning. Just what I've seen in two years of our 1125's. Bob

Yep like these cheap pipes that are custom made and dyno'd to work for them. Maybe you can see where some of us are coming from that own other bikes as well as the Buell. Now for 1100 this is what you get on other bikes. Seems to be a bit more for the money doesnt it?

hellgate - your post is comical.
so because SOME systems are 3grand then they must all be?
there are many great full systems (for japs) for the same cost as some of these slip ons for our bike. THAT IS SILLY AND UNCALLED FOR.

Nope, I'm just honest and straight forward.

You're not following the post, I didn't say all systems had to be three grand, but if you want a full Ti system, headers, collector, muffler, they are more than $1,100. Check out Kneedraggers, $1,600 on the low side, up to $3,200 for a nice Akrapovic.

Again, show me a full Ti system for $1,100.

Finally, anything out of Europe is very expensive right now because of the poor dollar to Euro exchange rate.

Try pricing out exhausts for Aprilla's, Ducati's, KTM's, BMW's twins... Heck even the Ol'TLR's or RC51's; Exhausts for twins are expensive - end of story. I watched a old banged up full system for a TLR go for over $700 on Ebay. Thats for a 10 year old bike.
I know it sucks coming from the inline 4 community but thats the way it is with big honkin' twins... and has always been. Just be thankful its not a 2-into-2 set up! I plunked down 1k for my exhaust - did it hurt? Yep. Was it worth it. Yep. Taker easy fellas.

Would be nice if all these custom 1125 slip-ons had a matching ECM tune included in the price. I'm sure they dyno'd and tweaked the heck out of their test bike ... so they should just throw the tune in ...

hellgate - i get it that some are more expensive.....still doesnt justify a slipon for our bikes being more than double what many other bikes are.

its just mufflers.

It sucks that a crate motor for our bikes runs like $7k and one for, say, an 03 R1 costs like $1200.

Oh, well!

i understand that. that was a bike built in much higher quanities than ours. and its several years old

now what i dont get is the jump in muffler pricing....

hellgate I just got done looking at a close out book on exhaust at my local kawasaki dealer and you would be surprised what full ti systems are in the for. full ti force system for a zx 14 for 689.00 and I bet they are still making a little bit of money on it. 1000.00 is just stupid for theses pipes for the Buell. 700 I could see.

cafe- keep in mind - most of these for a grand are slip ons only. not full systems. that is what boggles my mind.

Hey T man those other twin prices you speak of are all full systems with TWO mufflers so this somewhat justifies the increase in cost on a twin over a 4 into 1, I dont mind the 750 eur price of the Free Spirits, just that our dollar value sucks, so thats what makes it 1100 or so, and at least that system has two mufflers.

In case anybody was interested in the slip-on.
Seems to be a slight problem.

Highly disappoint since I was serious about getting this one.
