Well, I hope this one sounds a LOT milder than the D&D exhaust. I heard one in person today on a CR and it was ungodly loud. It was inside, but still, that thing was just asking to get a ticket when it rolls off the dealer lot. I've heard some loud Harley's but that one seemed even louder.

adams have u heard a worked sportster motor with a force exhaust on it? i would think its comparable. but the force gets louder and louder as the rpms increase, my old sportsters red line was 7000rpms, so that 3500rpm increase probably makes the d&d take the sound test over it. Id bet its louder, probably a higher bark. not a bad thing but depends who u are.
i never got a second look with it on. im in maine so theres a lot a hick rides around here so the police are probably a used to it.

Kevin shipped two prototypes to me today so that I can design the mounting brackets. I'm planning to have it done and on the way back to Hickory this week.

Cosmetic question: Which finish do you prefer? Black paint like stock, black powder coat, black ceramic or brushed stainless. As you might imagine, the finish we decide on will impact the price.

Is it going to be constructed of stainless? If so, my vote would be brushed.

Second choice would be black powder coat, third black paint.

What order would they rank in cost?

all the dyno work will be done before it gets ready to be sold, it hasn't been fitted to a bike yet so we need to put the horses in front of the cart and get it fitted first then we will worry about dyno time....

im not sure what i would prefer. i think i would go with black of some kind. powdercoat would cost plenty less than ceramic, but i have never actually powder coated a pipe and muffler. just alot of full coverage heat shields so im not sure of the durability when directly ON a head pipe.

i really havent been fond of the chrome or stainless look on the 1125s with other pipes on them so far.

i more want the thing to blend in until it fires up.

my drummer SS looks great on my 9 with the silver frame and wheels, but i dont think it would have looked as good on my blacked out 12r as the regular drummer did. all nice and incogneto with just a clean looking billet tip.

thats the same way i look at the darker over all apearance of the 1125. but thats just my opinion

I want the all stainless one. Polished or brushed would work fine for me.

My vote is for black powder coating.

I think one of the main factors for ceramic over powder coating, is the temp differences, right? (yes I know it looks a bit different too, but not day/night difference).

Since the heat issues have been resolved, I don't think that the heat expelled will be a big deal, so let's some some coin and go black powder instead of ceramic : )

Oh, and thanks for keeping us posted, everyone involved with the build. This exhaust is (I'm sure) going to be well worth the wait, and ever since I talked to Kevin on the phone, way back in the day, I knew I was gonna have to wait for this bad boy. We're waiting =)

Black of any kind, but no paint, the stocker has proven that isn't the best idea...

Why not just leave them in a brush state, ready on the shelves...then the customer can select an optional (+ $ amount) finish at POS?

Seems a little faster for supply and demand.

Those that want an option can wait another week and brag about it here! : )

I don't even have a 1125 YET, but when i buy my Drummer, I would like it brushed stainless.

Black ceramic first choice. Black powder coat second. Most important is that it is BLACK. Thanks for polling.

Good one Sly, best of both worlds and everyone can have it like he likes it.

I'll second Sly's option, brushed with customer options (and $$$).

I'm perfectly fine with flat black.
Rattle-cans of Bar-B-Q paint are cheap.

I'd go for a raw finish, clean it up and paint it...

Unobtrusive with a sweet tone.

Black powder coat for me please. Something that won't rust and easy to clean.

Of course, it's gotta make power first.

Tis me wish
