Well, since this new ecm update I have found myself lifting the front end up off the ground much easier each time I roll onto the throttle. Has anyone figured out the "ideal" rpm range for a roll on power wheelie yet? I know it depends on the weight of the rider, position on the bike, experience, road surface, blah blah blah, but I interested in other's views.

Now this isn't something I do in traffic or should anyone else, but I am curious to see if anyone else has really played with it any. Yesterday I was out riding some twisties with a friend who was on his XB12R *sweet bikes btw, with full fairings and D&D Exhaust* and we slowed to let two cars turn left on a multilane HWY, there was a clear wide open stretch ahead of us, so when the vehicle were well away I tucked low and Dropped it into first at a 10 MPH roll and snapped the throttle back. The front end came right up and sailed above the ground and on the shift it plopped right back to the road. When we arrived at our destination my buddy said it looked really cool to see that 1125r just snap up off the ground with such ease.

So in the interest of everyone else's experiences, what RPM range does your 11 prefer for such activities?

about 4.5k in first seems best for me and 6k in second. anything after that i clutch it up. keep in mind im 165lbs. dont know what if anything it would take a heavier person.

Mine is all over the place. I really hope the update makes it more consistent. In all fairness it is easier when it`s not hot out.
1st gear is usually 5k rpm. 2nd gear is some times 6k rpm and sometimes 7500 rpm and other times never. 3rd I think was around 7500 rpm but it has been so long since it has done it that I can`t remember.

I will be a lot happier when I can squeeze another 5 to 10 HP out of it.

Cool! I'll keep my eye on my tach next time I play around with her. I weigh 200 pounds so she's going to have to work just a little more to get my weight up, the new flash does seem to make it more wheelable. lol

I found my xb12s was much easier to pull up in 2nd and maintain than my 1125r. Perhaps I'm just intimitaed by the look of the fairing in the air and the seemingly endless rpm range though.

It seems I can do the exact same thing twice with this bike and have different results. One time the front end barely comes up, then next time I'm at 12 o clock.

~Oops just realized this was power wheelies. I've typcially only do clutched wheelies.

Things are really getting better in the power department now that the weather is cooling down. Friday evening I was reminded just how much I love my Helicon!!

I was yelling like a kid on a roller coaster while powering the front tire up in 3rd and lofting it up in 4th!!!

I just wish that it had this kind of power all the time.

Nope, Htekwo, actually that's a balance wheelie. Fixed speed. Just a juggle of rear brake vs. throttle (and wind pressure!). Great riders can do that on anything. I watched a guy do that on a Ulysses at well over 100 mph for miles. It was so insane.

thats not a power wheelie, you can hear and see him clutch it up! and once it is up he isnt picking up speed which means he is at the BP.

this is how you power wheelie! tire maybe a foot, foot and a half off of the ground the whole time.

and this was before they really started making some power out of it. in this vid it has 500bhp. last i saw they were a bit over 700.

Two_buells, I take it you've not seen the ghostrider before?

Search for it, you can waste HOURS of time on that subject alone.

Graphic pic of 175mph gone wrong...

180 mph wheelies are STUPID, and as we all know STUPID hurts...

Don't click the following link if you don't want to see a very nasty graphic image of a partially decapitated human corpse and entrails.

i say do a wheelie how ever fast you want. you can die just as easily while sitting on your bike with the kickstand down.

the way i look at it is if the thought of death controls all that you do, your life will suck and could still end up being shorter than mine

Painkiller- give a warning next time... graphic pictures like that are a bit much when someone is not expecting it. Yes, it gets the point across, but there may be viewers here for whom it might hit too close to home.
