Dan,
Besides you, Who mentioned anything about religion?

All,
I'll move the evolution posts/discussion to the old archived topic of that subject.

Jerry,
Thanks for the movie recommendation.

Screw being Politically Correct...

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Lenin (not John, for those of you that don't know the difference and can't spell) said religion is the heroin of the masses and may have been right. I still feel it is good for your moral character and worthy of sharing with your children.

If you think of fear of the unknown, superstition and subsequently religion as a precursor to civil law, you will be on the right track and understand the simplicity of it all, regardless of your personal orientation. Sure would be nice to just live by the 15, er, the 10 commandments (thank you, Mel Brooks) than all the laws our governments have thought up to refine the basics to seal up the loopholes everyone tries to create at least once to avoid prosecution.

I may not belong to a church as I perceive it as a glorified social club once you progress in years and the kids are gone, but I live in the teachings and have been able to persevere through thick and thin compliments of the moral fiber it instilled in me. Note that is something that the schools and those of you with little adults rather than children can't accomplish.

There isn't a bad religion out there. It is man's interpretation and personal agenda that turns us against one another. So take a moment to reflect on life and make 2005 your best year ever.

Again, Merry Christmas to all. It is a special time of year regardless of your beliefs and we all stand to improve our lot in life if we put our minds to it.

Kinger->Anybody know where to buy Motorcycle Consumer News??? I have called the local bookstores, and none of them carry it.

I thought MCN was subscription only...no newsstand sales.

Blake,
The evolution vs creation argument is nothing but whether you are religious or not. Does it really belong on a Buell motorcycle board?

Excuse me for butting in,

To the brave young men and women who fight our wars, patrol our streets, guard our boarders, fight our fires, save our lives, mend our wounds, and teach our children - thank you for your sacrifices and doing your job with honor and dignity under such trying conditions. To Blake and the BadWeather Bikers and want-a-be Hooligands, thank you for giving me something to read and think about, and for this BBS.

Make this a special Christmas for someone that does not expect it - mend fences with that relative that you say you hate and make the first move in a peace offering to them. If they reject you keep doing it every year - there is too much hate in the world - make your own peace and the world will be a better place for all of us.

A Peaceful and loving Christmas and Prosperous new year - May God protect you all from harm, catch you when you fall, and lift you up when you are weak.

The Thurd:

Merry Christmas all!!!

Thanks for all the support and help everyone has given me over the year with the Ride Across North America and all. It's amazing how great our community is.

A few Christmas-y pics for everyone...

And Ferris, took this one a week or so ago, thought you'd get a kick out of it.

What I ride a Buell so I can't be religious and I can't post anything related to religion on this board !!???

I don't condone arguing religion, but religion or lack of is a part of who someone is and I have no issues knowing where anyone stands on that issue, or that they discuss it so long as it's about THEM and not about how others are wrong !!

My 2 cents worth !!

Merry Christmas and God Bless All !!

Motorcycle Consumer News is sold available by subscription only. You will not find it anywhere at retail.

Is expensive for a MC Mag, but well worth the price to not receive information biased by corporate advertising dollars.

Translation: MCN dares go where others would never consider.

"Lenin (not John, for those of you that don't know the difference and can't spell) said religion is the heroin of the masses and may have been right. I still feel it is good for your moral character and worthy of sharing with your children."

Actually Bill, I believe (there's that word again) it was Marx (not Groucho) who said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses". Sometimes I ask myself, "Self, why the hell do you know this?". Man, having degrees in Philosophy can really screw your head up! I'll certainly agree with the second part of your statement, though!

NOW!!! The REAL reason for my post...CELEBRATE THE SEASON all you Bad-Monkey-Funker-Webbers! God Bless Us Every One!
Here's something nice and fun:

Bill,
You got that right!
They have really hit smacked the hive with a stick regarding the recent MSF/MIC articles...

To all:

Have a very Merry Christmas.
Eat lots, drink lots, smile lots and love lots.
I'm off to the childrens Christmas pagent at church then off to the family celebration.
Even though my "kids" left that stage long ago I still get a kick out of seeing the little ones do a completely unrehersed version of the Christmas nativity story.

Warm and merry thoughts to all.....

Brad

Hey guys, Thanks for the correction.

Wow, I have been misquoting that that since my Poli Sci days in the 60's. Surprised nobody called me on it before this.

Then, Poli Sci was the only class we used to fire up a doob (just natural giggle weed back then. No hybrids) before because every class was a battleground between the Doves, Yippies and SDI. Just lucky I was a clean cut bartender/bouncer at one of the off campus pubs and nobody challenged me.

We used to drop "Mickey's" in the trouble makers beer back then to avoid going to court over another bar fight. Didn't always work, but it sure was fun. LOL

To tell the truth, I really don't know how I passed the class. Must have been strictly on attendance as I sure didn't learn anything. LOL
