Dave,
Yuasa makes a couple of batteries for the S2.
The YTX20-BS is maintenance free and the YB16-B
is a conventional battery.
You can use Yuasa numbers to cross to other batteries.

Boese, That slogan "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My honor is called loyalty) was the slogan of the "WAFFEN-SS" in the Germany of the Nazis. Have a look with Google if you don`t believe me. It sounds in my ears as an horrible curse. It is in the same league as "Arbeit macht frei"(Work liberates) above the entrance of the concentration camps of the Nazis. I suppose you didn`t know.

Since the search engine isn't working, I need a question answered. Pulled off the front and rear wheels on my 98 S3T to check the wheel bearing and replace the brake pads. I’m also going to change the DOT 5 brake fluid too. Is there anything tricky I might run into bleeding the brakes? Not sure why I’m asking this, but I’d swear that I read something here in the past that some were having trouble getting the air out of the system or something.

Carlost. I've been working on the same problem on my 2001 M2. When I posted it, most were saying, vent problem, fuel outlet too small, main jet too big (Blake's suggestion) etc. I kinda forgot about it, not having much use for 120 MPH+. Then a track day 10 days ago and same thing, engine great in all gears to 7000, but in 5th, when passing 120 MPH, about 6000 RPM, it would die out on me. Under 120, it would pick up again. Since the first time, I put in a Pingel gas guzzler, not much else. At the track, I put the Pingel in the reserve slot to see if that would help, but no difference. I took out the vent valve and checked it out in case it needed re-setting from an overfill and checked the vent line for good airflow, no problem.
I put my A/F guage and O2 sensor back on this week to see what was happening. It goes full lean at that 120 MPH barrier. Again that looks like fuel starvation. Will try a run with the gas cap loose, just to eliminate the vent from the equation, then, I'm gonna pull the carb, install one of those brass replacement gas inlets for the carb that claim 40% more fuel delivery, and if that won't do it, play with jets again.
Is there some electrical barrier, other than rev limiter (which would be apparent in all gears) that could be the problem?

Jim,
If you keep the reservoir full, you should have no trouble with air getting into the system. If it does, then yes, it can get into places that it will not want to simply flush from. I just started using a thing called the EZE-Bleeder. It is simply a big syringe sans needle. In place of the needle it has two tough semi-flexible nipples. One for each size range of brake bleed nipples. Simply fill the syringe with a little new fluid; afix it to bleed nipple, commence bleeding brake. When syringe is full, you can force all the fluid back up in reverse through the system. Air goes bye bye. You may also try slightly loosening each banjo fitting while applying pressure to the brake lever. Sometimes air can lodge in the fittings; letting the fluid escape there will take the air with it.

I think you can get the EZE-Bleeder from any number of mail order houses. I can't say enough about the product. It turns brake bleeding into a quick and simple one man job.

If you do a google search for "EZE Bleeder" you'll find various sources. They run around $20.

Jim,just remember that Dot 4 and Dot 5 are not compatible,so no mixing. And yes the air is a bitch to get out by normal bleeding techniques--near impossible. But I have used similar method to Blake's with very good results.

There must be a better way to change the oil filter without getting oil everywhere on the 1200 engines?

Please ignore all the bogus information in the left hand column. As soon as I figure out how, it will be gone save for our usernames, as per previous convention. The extra columns in the topics table will be gone too. Search engine still not working.

OK, now it's gonna make a liar out of me...sheesh. After I posted it now works, but everything is different. Don't tell me, let me guess: you control the horizontal, you control the vertical, you can change the focus to a soft blur....

Blake,

Ya gotta get some sleep, man.

Sleep deprivation decreases productivity drastically.

But sometimes, reduced productivity is better than 8 hours of no productivity

Dyna,

Maybe. This new format needs some adjustments. As soon as I figure out how to delete the extraneous info under our usernames, I'll see about getting our profiles back up and reloaded as they were, then I need to reload the banner ads, then add the counter to the lefthand frame....

yeah, when all that is done, I'll see if I can change your username for ya. There are a couple others who have been waiting patiently for the same thing.
