It's easier to get it started by using the screwdriver like a crowbar, putting it against the frame and using the leverage to push the rubber off the bar. Once you get it started, the rubber mallet comes in handy. Also, go against the grain of the rubber, or you'll just turn the screwdriver into a large nail. lol... Of course, that's if the tank hasn't been off before. Tank is tilted back onto frame - make parallel -slide forward, tilt up rear of tank to clear front tank securing bars and slide back till clear, then lift up and forward - careful - the air scoop likes to catch on the fuel lever turning it on and spilling fuel.
