Hi all,

I have a 2008 Blast with about 2100 miles. I bought it a month ago and didn't have any trouble till this past weekend. To explain some of what happens:

Bike starts fine, stays on for about a minute, then will start idling lo as if I weren't giving it enough gas in first gear, then dies. There is some noise as if something was sliding against each other before it dies.

History: I bought it with 1600 miles, don't know for sure when oil was last changed. It does appear to be low, I will try to add some later and see if it works.

Stuff I've done: I changed the spigot in the airbox to point away from the gullet of the intake. This is I believe a suggestion I read somewhere on this forum. I took off the carb boot to see if it was cracked. It did have some cracks, but nothing that went all the way thru, I put it back on. Bike ran fine at first today, then started with above symptoms after a 30 min ride. I typically let the bike warmup for a few min (like 2-3) before riding.

Any help is appreciated.

I would replace the intake boot as a start.

Wanted to report back, it was indeed Das Boot.

It was actually torn into 2 pieces, wonder how I even made it back home on that. Anyway, stock piece right now, waiting on the resupply of the superboot. Thanks again Vic.

No worries - EZ and Erik O. would have said the same thing if I hadn't have posted first.

Pretty amazing how often that manifold coupler turns out to be the source of whatever's going on.

Hope the bike is running well all around now!
