I was always kinda curious because the methods for adjusting the primary never seemed to work. So anyway, I decided to just pay to have my clutch replaced (slipping really bad). This is what was found. Unfortunately Harley had to order a new one and a gasket, so I am out of wheels for about a week.

Yep, no method is going to adjust for that!!
Likely Adjusted too tight at some point in its life.

I just can't believe I rode the thing from Oregon to Texas with the tensioner in pieces. I hate not having my bike, but I bet when I get her back she'll be running like a champ.

That is why I always say have the adjustment on the loose side. When it is too loose - you will hear the chain hitting the case - box of rocks sound, then you just tighten till the sound disappears.
