I've been getting a little oil smoke from the heads. I've not had time to check it out until recently so I just made sure I always have the correct amount of oil in the bike. Today I pulled the tank off to find the leak and the crankcase breather was popped out of the crankcase and pretty melted to the point it couldn't breathe. I bought the bike used. I've not had it "hot", but I did ride it most of the summer here in Fl. The grommet looked good. Ill go search out the parts tomorrow, but has anyone heard of a breather melting?

Never heard of that, but riding in FLA in the summer and your bike will be hot!!!; ) It was also sitting in one of the hottest locations on the bike.
I think if the bike actually got hot enough to melt the breather and the breather was in good working order, that you would've have noticed something unusual, very unusual.
Is it possible that it was already melted to some degree and you just never looked at it? As if the prior owner melted it then just shoved it back in?

If it melted like that make sure you're not running too lean. Are you running an aftermarket carb or exhaust? Watch the oil temps on the bike.

Everything is installed and working nicely.
