So this is my first bike, and unfortunately my mechanical experience is minimal but I was hoping someone might have an idea of what's causing my bike to die recently.

Towards the end of our riding season up here in Alaska, my Blast would start fine (sometimes with a little extra gas to help it out), but was giving me issues idling.

More specifically when I was starting it cold in the morning, it would fire up fine, but after some time the idle would drop the RPM's down (which usually meant it was ready to ride), expect now they are dropping down to the point that the engine chokes and dies. At first the issue would go away after driving it around town a bit and warming the engine up. But after a week or two longer, that wouldn't help any longer and when I stopped at a light or sign, and I had to keep my throttle up just a bit to keep the engine from choking.

I'm not sure if it has something to do with the temperature, as it was getting colder towards the end of riding season (when it began happening more often). Typically down into the lower 40's or higher 30's.

The only thing I've checked before putting it in storage is the spark plugs. Does this sound like a carb or boot issue to anyone? Any suggestions to help diagnose the problem are welcome. I'm no grease monkey, but with a manual or diagram and some suggestions I think I can manage.

Das Boot! - lol - Welcome! Try tightening your intake coupler, both clamps, Nothing changes, replace coupler.

Thanks Ez, I'll give that a shot and post back to let you know if it works or not.

After some research I found a custom intake, or super boot that seems better than the stock one. Would you guys recommend that?

The superboot is a improved OEM boot. if you have the $ go for it.

+1 on the Superboot. It is significantly better than the OEM part. I have been using the Superboot for 2+ years and have had no problems with it.

If you still have the stock intake/airbox its not really necessary, but as Crackhead said "if you've got the money, go for it"!
