Gonna go with the American Sport Bike tall velocity stack on my son's P3 (have one on my M2). Looking at some of the info here showing modifying the stack by implanting a splitter plate in the stack. Done a lot of motorcycle mods in the last 45 years, but (pardon my ignorance) is that splitter necessary for good airflow? We plan on slipping a K&N over the stack. BTW, which K&N will fit over the stack and be unobtrusive for the rider?
Thanks

You have good air flow, the splitter improves it. ON the Filter - none that we know of except the stack filter which must be called in to order, the item not being listed on Outerwears site. The best aftermarket intake set up is either mine, Tony/Xgeko's, or Thumpe's - all 3 take either fabrication or the purchase of a items already fabricated and put together - More research is in order for you I'd say - the RamFlo is also very good. Eric suggests the foam filters, but they look funny to me and don't really flow any better than a K&N.

There is a K & N that will "fit" (without an elbow). Seen it, but couldnt tell you the part number. The K & N site has all the dimensions if you're up for a hunt.
The splitter is available from different sources if you arent up for the fabrication.

......and yes, I do like the UNI foam filters. The green is ugly, but the red and black ones I have look great. They are also much easier to clean and weigh a fraction of what the other 'real' air filters weigh ; )

The splitter will improve the low rpm throttle response, just where the Blast is weak.

Thanks for the responses! What are the other sources for "the splitter"?

Make your own, its not a hi tech fabrication.

I've seen other brands and cheaper, but I never made note of them. At this point, this is the only one I found : (
